23.01.2022 The introduction of the Extended Range of Focus class of Intraocular Lenses is an exciting advance in cataract and refractive surgery. It is always important to tailor an approach to the specific requirements of an individual. Dr James Genge of Freedom Eye Laser says "I have been delighted with the surgical outcomes I have achieved with EROF lenses. Refractive accuracy is the same as with standard monofocal IOLs.". Patients with these lenses have excellent visual quality and ...good contrast sensitivity with minimal night vision issues while still being able to achieve a significant degree of glasses independence. Find out more about Extended Range of Focus Intraocular Lenses here: https://www.freedomeyelaser.com.au/extended-range-focus-le/

17.01.2022 With Contoura Vision LASIK, Freedom Eye Laser performs a topographic scan of the surface of the cornea of 22,000 data points. Using these data points, the sophisticated algorithm in the laser computer not only corrects the glasses prescription but allows the laser to perfect any subtle irregularities or asymmetry on the corneal surface. By doing this, this procedure can achieve levels of vision 2 lines greater on a vision chart, than what was previously obtainable with glasses. These results are ground-breaking, and a first in the history of eye surgery. 01.01.2022 With the recent bushfire smoke clouding Sydney, there has been a lot of talk about how we can protect ourselves from the smoke. But what about our eyes? Bushfire smoke contains dust, fumes and tiny particles that can cause irritation when they are dissolved into the tear coating that covers our eyes. Little is known about the long term risks of bushfire smoke on our eye health so it’s best to take precautions to limit irritation. Dry eye is one eye condition that can result... from poor air quality. This occurs when we don’t produce enough tears to properly lubricate our eyes. Here are a number of things you can do to protect your eyes from bushfire smoke irritation. If possible, avoid exposure to smoky air and stay inside. Wear protective eyewear when outside to reduce the chance of pollutants getting to the eye. Avoid wearing contact lenses. If irritated: Avoid rubbing the eye. Flush out the eye with lubricating eye drops. Place a cool, clean washer over your closed eyes to provide relief. If eye irritation continues, see an eye care professional. At Freedom Eye Laser, we're experts in eye health and protecting your eyes from damage. If you're experiencing discomfort or have any questions about your eye health, don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss a suitable treatment. Give us a call on 1800 393 527.
