25.01.2022 So grateful to have hosted the Adelaide Guitar Festival today. What a joy to experience an intimate performance from Aunty Nancy Bates, Emily Wurramura and Nathan May. #sogood

23.01.2022 Celebrating our Volunteers ... It’s no surprise many of our children seek out James for his kind, calm and gentle manner. Caring for our grounds, building and upcycling in the workshop, James is one handy guy. Nothing too big or too small, ingenuity, initiative, an eye for sustainability, hard work and heart of gold. A model for our kids to aspire to. Thank you James! #canweclonehim?

21.01.2022 Ngutu College values a child for who they are and supports them on their own journey of growth. This includes children having a voice in decisions that affect them and having non-punitive actions against them as they develop their skills in all areas, academic, social and emotional. This applies to all children. However, we now particularly invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to take their journey in this culturally safe place, this emotionally safe place an...d this place that acknowledges the breadth of thinking skills they bring and we'll build together from here. To support families to access Ngutu College, there are nearly two thirds of the places fee-free (this is beyond just School Card). There are scholarships available to children to access other college resources. There are buses available to support children to get to and from the college where distance or transport may be a barrier. There are welcoming families and highly skilled staff to ensure this is a safe place to access for learning. To find out more, please visit our website (including a Virtual Tour) at www.ngutucollege.org.au and/or visit us at an information gathering on Tuesday 8th December at 5:30 p.m. or Wednesday 9th December at 4:00pm. Bookings can be made through the website or email [email protected] or call 0497452557.

21.01.2022 At Ngutu College we acknowledge that May 26th is Sorry Day. We pause to reflect and are open to honest conversations with children about our history. #sorryday2021

18.01.2022 Ngutu College has attracted the most dedicated, passionate, skilled group of volunteers. We are so grateful for their generosity of time, strong work ethic and support for our philosophy and vision. Words aren’t enough to express our thanks, and these people never look for acknowledgement, but we want to celebrate them! Please look out over the coming days for an introduction to some of our amazing volunteers... although all won’t be mentioned by name, we value the contributi...on made by all our volunteers. Thank you to Sharon and the fabulous team of volunteers she leads to create our College Library. They are working through the monumental task of sourcing, collecting, sorting, processing and cataloguing an entire library of resources - while the children are borrowing! Each donated and newly purchased book is thoughtfully considered to ensure our collection is inclusive, engaging and exceptional. Thank you Sharon and Library Team! #notquitebutweareontheway

15.01.2022 BTN is a news program created especially for children. We are proud that this BTN Newsbreak features some familiar faces and voices from our Ngutu community.

14.01.2022 It’s not about what you want to be when you grow up - it’s about who you are now, and into the future. We are proud that our children have a strong voice and are empowered to use it. #justiceforwomenmarch #rightsofthechild

13.01.2022 Today ‘Project Recruit a Reptile’ came to fruition. A group of children in the Kaltas have been working hard to cost, write a persuasive argument, and pitch their idea to Andrew, our Head of College, to get a pet Kalta (meaning lizard in Kaurna). Julie drove the keen group to a local pet store to choose their bearded dragon who has been named Charizard after a class vote. Welcome Charizard, you are already loved so much.

12.01.2022 Ngutu College is a place where children can feel safe to learn and safe to be. This includes having who they are, and their stories, valued and built upon. The GO Foundation, are ready to go to support many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. Please call 0497 452 557 or DM us your phone number and we'll call you to talk about possibilities. 10.01.2022 We are growing... new faces, new spaces, looking forward to an amazing Term 2 at Ngutu College. See you in the morning!

10.01.2022 We couldn’t have asked for a more stunning day for our Year 5-7 children to be involved in aquatics lessons. It was an awesome day of sailing, surfing, snorkelling and kayaking at West Lakes Aquatics Centre. Children returned tired, smiling and hearts full from a wonderful experience to inspire possibilities of future pursuits.

09.01.2022 Celebrating our Volunteers... Strongly led by Catherine Baldwin GAICD, our Ngutu College Board comprised of Gerald Lipman, Dana Shen and Dr Mary Sutherland OAM, are a group of courageous visionaries, who have been steadfast in their belief about the importance of this special place. Compassionate, empathetic, highly intellectual, a group of people who listen, support, encourage, advise and achieve. We are truly thankful for their generosity of time and support for Ngutu College.

09.01.2022 Celebrating our Volunteers... A big thank you to Jay for opening up our Ngutu world to Robotics. We are creating maps for Ozobots to follow and building with Lego Robotics Spike Prime kits. Some of us have even managed to begin coding our robots to perform simple tasks. The expressions of curiosity, wonder, engagement and excitement tell the story of how successful these experiences are for our children. Thank you Jay for your generosity of time and thoughtful sharing of your passion and skill!

09.01.2022 Each day the Kudlis acknowledge that they are together on Kaurna Country. #reconciliationweek2021

05.01.2022 We invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to contact us through private message to learn more about the unique opportunities we offer for your children and all children from 2021. When Ngutu College opens in 2021, the children who started their schooling at the time of the 'Apology to Australia's Indigenous Peoples' will have completed Year 12 with little difference in schooling, for yet another generation. Ngutu College offers new opportunities, a culturally s...afe space, Aboriginal leadership, Eldership and other staff and is a symbol of reconciliation as all our children will access high-quality equitable education. To find out more, DM us, call us on 0497452557, email us on [email protected] or visit our website at www.ngutucollege.org.au

04.01.2022 We acknowledge that at Ngutu College we are privileged to play and learn on the land of the Kaurna People. While thinking like Mathematicians and Meteorologists we have noticed that the Kaurna seasonal cycle has 4 distinct weather seasons. We have just begun the season of Parnati that extends from April to June. When Kaurna people lived traditionally on this land they noticed in April, a star near the moon on the lower left side that sparkles (partinthi) and that it’s the w...indy (waitpi) season. Parnati has cold mornings, high rainfall and trees tend to lose limbs. Kaurna people would cut canoes and build shelters from wattle gum at this time. In Parnati we love to jump in the fallen leaves, have rain drop races on the windows, and spend time with family on long weekends. Illustration by artist, Elsa.

02.01.2022 We have been enjoying participating in this years DreamBIG Festival. It culminated today with performance ‘Like Me, Like You’ at Tandanya with themes of diversity, inclusion, understanding, acceptance and anti-racism. The perfect beginning to Reconciliation Week 2021 for the Kaltas. On their travels they couldn’t resist the fallen leaves, ‘Don’t you love the feeling and sound of dry leaves crunching beneath your feet?’ #reconciliationweek2021
