15.01.2022 Everyone loves a holiday, with Christmas on our door step it seems that everyone is gearing up for the busy months ahead Donald (we named him) has taken up prime residence next to the Hastings street roundabout and he is preparing his nest for the impending arrival of his chicks Bush Turkey males have the delightful task of egg rearing requiring him to constantly regulate nest temperatures by removing and replacing leaf litter, while mum...well she went her own way... From September to March Between 16 to 24 eggs maybe laid in a single nest Baby Bush Turkeys from the day go are left to defend themselves If you get the chance to visit Noosa pay Donald a visit but please note Bush Turkeys are a protected species and a delight to have around Donald has his Christmas booking.. do you have yours.?
