25.01.2022 Man of the match for yesterday; First grade: Alex Palozzi and Aiden Palozzi Ressies: Griffin Butterworth All age: Goran Novacevski

25.01.2022 Reserve grade v Beresfield 6 - 1 Winstone Oku x 2 Cameron Kennedy Andrew Woodman... Dylan Oakes Daniel Palozzi Solid result for the ressies boys. Cam opened the scoring slotting it past the advanced Bero keeper who had come out of his goals. Bero the equalised to make it 1-1. Winstone made sure the Suns went into halftime with the lead finishing off a nice team goal. The second half was all Suns with Pommy getting a third from the edge of the box. Dylan then got in on the act and getting one for himself. Daniel came off the bench with 10 minutes to go and scoring a nice goal from outside the box with a lovely assist from the other super sub Jason Konjarski. Winstone rounded off the scoring in the last minute after Daniel unselfishly played him through to tap into an empty net.

17.01.2022 RESERVE GRADE vs CARDIFF 2 - 1 Goal scorers; Dylan Oakes Goran Novacevski ... Well fought victory for the boys in ressies securing the 3 points with a late winner from marathon super sub Gozza. Going into the break at 0-0, Cardiff pinched an early second half goal with a great strike from outside the box. Shortly after Oaksey equalised with a lovely header before Gozza slipped the ball past the keeper with just minutes left.

13.01.2022 First grade vs Cardiff 2 - 3 Goal scorers; Aiden Palozzi Andrew Palozzi... A tight game with Cardiff taking the lead midway through the second half with a penalty. Aiden equalised shortly after. A penalty was then awarded to the suns with Chef unfortunately putting it over the top of the bar. A minute later, Cardiff went down the other end to win and convert a second penalty for themselves and then following that up with another goal just after that. Suns went down to 10 men after a second yellow card to Juma. Chef would redeem himself with a long range free kick but Cardiff held on to take the points.

11.01.2022 First grade vs Hamilton Azzuri 6 - 3 Goal scorers; Aiden Palozzi x 2... Alex Palozzi x 2 Andrew Palozzi Jimmy Bennis Great result for the first graders today. Off to a flying start with Aiden scoring inside the first 5 minutes. Jimmy got a second goal midway through the first half before Chef scored a third goal in the first half. Azzuri pulled one back after that and then Jimmy was given a red card before the break. Early in the second Alex scored to make it 41. Azzuri then got two goals back courtesy of a lovely header into his own goal from Macca. Aiden and Alex then both scored their second goals to round off a comprehensive win with 10 men.

06.01.2022 First grade v Beresfield 3 - 1 Goal scorers; Alex Palozzi x 2 Anthony Konjarski... A fairly comfortable win for first grade today on Old Boys Day. Plenty of chances in the first half although unable to capitalise with many attempts on goal going straight to the Bero keeper. Both teams locked at 0-0 at the break. About 10 minutes into the second half the Suns broke the deadlock after a penalty was awarded for handball in the box. Alex stepped up to slot the penalty home. A deep run from the back from Lawrence who linked up with Anthony for the suns second goal. Bero then got one back on the counter attacked. The Suns then went two ahead again after a nice ball from Daniel to Alex wide on the left who took on two Bero defenders and coolly finished into the bottom right corner to seal three point for the Suns.

04.01.2022 All age vs Newcastle Uni 0 - 3 Not one of our best showings for the season going down by three goals to nil against a young, enthusiastic Uni side in gale force winds which led to a very scrappy game. Gozza unlucky not to equalise in the second half after chipping the keeper from outside the box before it hit both posts and unfortunately not make its way over the line.
