24.01.2022 This #includeacharity week we want to highlight the important role that legacy gifts play in helping to fund the amazing work of our Northern Sydney Local Health District hospitals and Kolling Institute of Medical Research. 24.01.2022 Well done to Ryde Community Heath Service for taking out the Keeping People Healthy Award at this year's #QIAwards for its Community Mental Health Gym Program.

24.01.2022 Have you been trying to figure out what the difference between a Close contact and a Casual contact is when it comes to the spread of COVID-19? Dr Jan Fizzell provides an easy explanation to give us all a better understanding. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A close contact is someone who has spent a significant amount of time in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed positive as having COVID-19. If yo...u are deemed to be a close contact you need to get tested and self-isolate for a full 14-days after your exposure (regardless of test results). A casual contact is someone who hasnt had enough exposure that they are likely to develop COVID-19 but we want these individuals to be extra cautious and mindful of any symptoms developing as they have been in the general vicinity of someone who has been diagnosed positive as having COVID-19. Symptoms can be mild and including a runny/stuffy nose, changes in smell/taste, cough, sore/scratchy throat, feeling hot then cold, generally out of sorts remember this isnt an exhaustive list and you only need one of these to need testing.

23.01.2022 Did you know that last financial year over 47% of NORTH Foundations fundraising income came from generous people who left a charitable gift in their Will. Through this kindness, the NORTH Foundation has been able to provide funding for state-of-the-art medical equipment, innovative patient services and funding for pioneering medical research. Find out more about leaving a bequest for here http://bit.ly/NORTH-IAC... #includeacharity #IACWeek2020 #giftsinwills

22.01.2022 Victoria is fighting Australia's largest COVID-19 outbreak, and as cases continue to rise, and both testing numbers and patients requiring treatment increase, the strain on their healthcare system is starting to be felt. As Australians, we are good at coming together at times like this and now is no different. It is all hands on deck to help our Victorian Department of Health & Human Services team. The first group of healthcare workers from NSW, including two Northern Sydney ...Local Health District staff members will join our Victorian teammates this week for four weeks. The teams will work at Melbourne Health and St Vincents Health and may be working across areas including testing clinics, supporting hospitals, and supporting workforce allocation and coordination. Earlier today Northern Sydney Local Health District Chief Executive, Deborah Willcox expressed her thanks to our district staff who showed their interest in volunteering for deployment to assist our colleagues in Victoria.

22.01.2022 PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT: NSW Health is directing everyone who attended the Thai Rock restaurant in Stockland Mall Wetherill Park on 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 July to imm...ediately be tested and self-isolate for 14 days, regardless of symptoms. Anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms should also be retested, even if they have had a negative result previously. Everyone must stay in isolation for a full 14 days even if their test is negative. As the Crossroads Hotel cluster expands, a number of venues attended by cases linked to the cluster are under investigation, with ongoing assessment and contact tracing continuing. Information on all venues is available at https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates. NSW has more COVID-19 testing sites than any other State or Territory. 11.01.2022 Thanks to the behind-the-scenes work by a small group of staff at NSW Health Pathologys Newcastle office, labs across the state have enough swabs to conduct vital COVID-19 testing. To date, the team including NSW Health Pathologys Judy Kempton Webb, Lynne Coleman and Aunty Joy, have packed and re-distributed more than 82,000 swab kits. The high rates of testing in NSW would not be possible without these people, who have been working tirelessly in the background to ensure swabs and other materials are going to where they're needed most.

05.01.2022 Trigger Warning: Pregnancy/child loss Today is World Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day’.
