25.01.2022 Strike Force Viper 2020 round up Since its commencement in October, Strike Force Viper investigators have submitted a total of 300 prosecution and youth diversion files. This is a milestone for the Strike Force Viper team and positive news for the community of Alice Springs. ... Having a dedicated team to focus solely on property crime has seen our clear-up rates improve due to the team’s knowledge of those recidivist property offenders, the way they operate and where to find them, said Detective A/Senior Sergeant Evan Kelly. The Strike Force Viper team will continue to target all property offending with a focus on unlawful entries and stolen motor vehicles in order to ensure those responsible are held accountable for their offending. Moving into the New Year it is a timely reminder to the Alice Springs community to remain vigilant, lock your windows and doors, secure your vehicle keys in safe place and report any suspicious activity. The report of suspicious people or activity often leads to property crime being prevented before it happens. Happy New Year from the Strike Force Viper team.

10.01.2022 Talk about #SquadGhouls But before we bust out the fangs and get our freak on, let's address the zombie in the room and talk personal safety and road rules. 1. Look both ways before crossing the road. We've said it before, but we'll say it again - fake blood = lols, but real blood = whoop whoop hello ambulance and you no lols. ... 2. Walk, don't run. There's a whole lotta sneaky trippy things out there which bring me back to broken bones and real blood. Reference point 1 real blood. 3. Costumes are fun, mostly sweaty and in some instances can impair your peripheral vision which means you become the 'bump in the night'. Tis not good, does hurt. 4.Children aged 10 and under NEED TO BE accompanied by an adult, preferably their own one entrusted to them. Remember - ghosts, zombies and Elsa from Frozen aren't the scariest things out there. 5. BYO Light beam/light saber/torch light - it will get dark and you will need to see. Snakes don't MAKE FOOTSTEPS COZ THEY HAVE NO FEETS. So you can't hear them walk up on choo, when they just fangin' along the path all sssss ssss and then WHAM you step on it, it get's all up in your grill and BITES YOU. sad face. Get a torch! #dangernoodle 6. RESPECT! Not all people want Ghouls, ghosties and scream masks in their face tonight AND WE RESPECT THEIR DECISION. People choose to get involved in this crazy night of sugar-induced madness. Please do not disrespect those who choose not to be involved. 7. PICK UP YOUR DAMN RUBBISH - honestly, if 2020 has taught us anything it's clean up after yo'self! 8. Trick or Treat - only knock on doors which have a front light on. Such simple technology, saaah simple. A front door light is today's modern technology to indicate it's GAME ON TRICK O TREATERS. As in many instances, if it's not on it's not on.... 9. Accept trick or treats at the front door - do not enter a stranger's house. You scream, they scream and the police get called and things get awkward. 10. Residents - lock it or lose it applies more than ever tonight. 11. And remember - If you see suspicious behaviour of the creepy kind, which is scarier than any halloween shtick - report it to police on 131 444. 12.Choose boos not booze - make good life decisions and don't drink and drive. #creepingitreal #hangingwithmyboos #trickorTreatYoSelf
