24.01.2022 SUCCESS WITH FRRR FUNDING Nullawil Progress Association’s grant application funded by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal in partnership with the Australian Government for the Nullawil Streetscape Enhancement Project has been successful and as soon as the new toilet block has been completed, works will begin. The funding will assist with the improvements to the silo art side of the main street.... This will include a walking track among the gum trees with rustic art sculptures. A gazebo, a number of seats and tables, signage, an iron stone maze, bollards and fencing will all be erected as part of the funding. The school children are proposing a design for the maze and we are asking local farmers to collect any iron stone rocks which can be used. Thank you to the FRRR and all of those involved in applying for and securing the grant. Watch this space for future meetings held in Nullawil for all active community members to attend to contribute to the works that will be undertaken in 2020.

24.01.2022 Future date to be announced in time. Sorry for any inconvenience, however due to the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns our goal is to avoid bringing people together in order to help contain the spread of Coronavirus and minimise the strain in our healthcare system. 18.01.2022 2020 is underway and harvest in the area is now completed. There is now time to look back over the 2019 Nullawil farming season that was. Despite missing out on a much-needed spring rainfall which would have been icing on the cake for crop yields, farmers locally are generally grateful for the season, which was held together by subsoil moisture from the December 2018 rain. Along with the dry finish, the season was impacted by frost and crop damage from strong winds. Nulla...Continue reading

11.01.2022 Santa visited O'Brien Park on Christmas Eve with "lights and sirens" on the big red fire Nullawil Fire truck. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

08.01.2022 ANZAC DAY Anzac Day 2020 was marked very differently than in previous years, but Australians still joined together physically separated but together as one. As the world is fighting the spread of COVID-19, Anzac Day events were cancelled all across the country. For the first time in a century the streets were empty; there was no ex-servicemen marching and no candlelight dawn services. However, it was still important for Australians to recognize the sacrifice of thousands ...Continue reading

06.01.2022 AUSTRALIA DAY BREAKFAST Nullawil community members gathered at O’Brien Park for the 2020 Australia Day Breakfast at 8.30 last Sunday morning. The BBQ’s were sizzling as volunteers cooked a tasty breakfast of eggs, bacon, and sausages made possible by funding from the Buloke Shire. Many community members were absent due to long weekend holiday plans, the last opportunity for some time away prior to school recommencing. Those present, young and old alike enjoyed the opportunit...y to mingle over breakfast and reconnect following the holiday break. Australia Day merchandise was on display with flag bunting and balloons decorating the area. Some in attendance accessorised with stylish Australian Flag Aprons while cooking breakfast, Australia Day Aussie Cork hats to keep pesky flies at bay and Keep on the Grass thongs with a lush faux grass footbed. Children got in the Australia Day Spirit adorning themselves with Australia Day temporary tattoos. Margaret Pollington officially welcomed the crowd to the Australia Day Celebration. Nullawil is very fortunate to have some talented young people within its community. One such person is Willem Hogan who has been learning the banjo and electric guitar. Willem performed the upbeat song by Australian rock icon Paul Kelly Dumb Things. The song reflects on the dumb things he’s done in a tribute to human failures, and looking back in retrospect perhaps learning from them. Willem chose the electric guitar and harmonica to accompany his vocals. Guest speaker, Gemma Fawcett is another talented young person within the Nullawil community, the daughter of Colin and Simone Fawcett. She did her Primary schooling at Nullawil Primary and Secondary education at Wycheproof P-12, where she was 2019 School Captain and Dux. She is going onto study Oral Health at Melbourne University in 2020. Margaret Pollington thanked Gemma for her insightful thoughts and a younger person’s perspective on Australia Day. Margaret wished Gemma all the best on the next stage of her life and tertiary education. Julie Anthony’s version of Advance Australia Fair was played, featuring Human Nature, James Morrison and Sydney Choirs. Many lingered to socialise in the surrounds of O’Brien Park, enjoying the perfect weather conditions. See more
