21.01.2022 I thought I was buying the healthy version. How many times have we got home with a load of shopping only to discover what we thought we'd bought was the 'healthy' product turned out to have something we didn't want to have in our diets. The almond milk on the left was in the fridge section, is organic, has cool earthy packaging and I remember buying it in the past. So I didn't really check the label. Turns out it's laden with organic rice syrup. (sugar/carbs). The one on... the right I got from the UHT section in the supermarket, because I did read the label. I thought I'd try it. Has no added sugar. Tastes fine. Never judge almond milk by it's cover. Sometimes you think you know a product, but I've found it's a good idea to keep checking the labels from time to time. I have noticed a couple of former favourites turn up with added sugar that I either didn't notice in the past or the product had changed. Lesson learned. 17.01.2022 Getting the good oil on healthy fats. The first time I heard about 'why' Omega-3s were called 'essential', it was like an 'aha' moment. Our bodies can't make them out of other 'stuff.' So much emphasis is placed on 'being motivated' and 'determined,' it often becomes an unattainable state that is only for other people.
