25.01.2022 It has been announced that the Planning Act will be amended to account for possible staff shortages due to COVID19. This means the likely removal of deemed approvals (default approvals) for code applications. It may also mean greater delays for decisions to be issued as there is no longer the risk to Council of the default approval. We'll provide more info when it is available but these are interesting times indeed. ... #policyupdate #legislation #townplanning #townplannerbne #townplanner #development #developmentapproval #brisbanebuilder #brisbanebusiness #moretonbaybusiness #loganbusiness #womeninbusiness

04.01.2022 Response to Show Cause - Industrial Extension Moreton Bay Council issued the business a show cause notice due to extensions that were asessable against the planning scheme. We managed the process, taking the stress out of the situation by:... contacting council enforcement team to avoid further action. lodged an application within days & obtained fee reduction of more than $2,000 due to small scale of works. obtained approval without information request or further fees for client. Have you been issued a show cause or enforcement? We can help. #showcause #enforcement #moretonbay #townplanner #developmentapproval #moretonbaybusiness #brisbanebuilder #industrialdesign

04.01.2022 Over the weekend @couriermail Q Weekend published a story on multi-generational living. There has been a 40% increase in this type of housing, with 1 in 5 Australians now identifying that they are living in a multi generational household. Some of the pros listed were companionship, security, finances. And the most obvious con - lack of privacy. This arrangement doesn't always need to be a sacrifice of space however, take this stunning house drawn up by @jonharrisbuildingd...esign for example. The existing house (200m2) was retained on the block for the parents, with a new grand residence at the back for the family. Family close by, but not in each others pockets. #newhouse #secondarydwelling #grannyflat #multigenerationalliving #brisbanetownplanner #townplannerbne #developmentapproval #townplanner #townplanning #brisbanearchitecture
