20.01.2022 The centrepiece of Orange Showground, the arena has received an upgrade with the installation of a new fence. The arena is the site of several community events throughout the year and doubles as a leash-free pet exercise area when not in use, as well as hosting many events during the Orange Show. Installed with funding from the NSW Government, the new heritage-style steel fence replaces the dilapidated wooden fence and makes the arena a much safer, more secure venue for a wide range of users. https://www.orange.nsw.gov.au/new-fence-improves-safety-fo/

19.01.2022 While Summer Street was partially closed to traffic earlier in the week, while the electricians worked on the festoon lights, the tree crew took the opportunity to prune the street trees. The team will be back Sunday night and Monday night to finish the job.

19.01.2022 If you are out and about in Autumn Street, keep your eyes peeled for Orange City Council crews, who have begun replacing the water main. The staff are currently working at the Icely Road end of Autumn Street and will make their way towards Byng Street. Traffic controllers are directing cars around the work site, so drivers are urged to slow down and pay attention to the changed conditions.

19.01.2022 Orange Mayor Reg Kidd popped in to see Vaishali Desai of Gardiner Road Mini Mart as safety upgrades to the intersection out the front of her businesses continue. Cr Kidd is encouraging nearby residents to continue visiting the convenience store during the works. The project will take about six weeks, impacting on access to Vaishali's business. While you can't park directly out the front of the Mini Mart, you can park nearby and access the shop on foot.

18.01.2022 Do you want to know more about where your waste goes? Council is running a FREE tour of Oranges Resource Recovery Centres that is open to the public. The tour will visit both the Ophir Rd (Orange) and Euchareena Rd (Molong) facilities, and attendees will see firsthand how waste including household garbage, recycling and food and garden organics are processed. 15.01.2022 As we all adapt to the 'new normal' in terms of COVID-19 restrictions and keeping everyone safe, we're now at the point where we can welcome anyone to the Orang...e Aquatic Centre without a booking. If you would like to lap swim, jump in for recreational swimming or do some gentle exercise, there's no need to book just come on down. We are limited to the number of people allowed in the centre at any given time so there may be times, as we head into summer, where the centre is at capacity and people may have to come back at a later time. You must sign-in using the QR codes at the door, or the paper sign-in sheet at the front desk. 06.01.2022 Orange Mayor Reg Kidd was pleased to attend the official opening of Housing Plus’ new facility The Orchard today. Through The Orchard, Housing Plus aims to ensure women and children experiencing domestic and family violence in Orange have access to accommodation and support to help keep them safe in their community. In recognition of Orange City Council’s continued support of the project, Cr Kidd was invited to cut the ribbon along with NSW Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward, Member for Calare Andrew Gee and NSW Attorney General and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence Mark Speakman.

05.01.2022 Orange City Council's parks and gardens staff are sprucing up Cook Park today, including one of the most popular attractions for families, the duck pond. Speaking of families, there are lots little duck families paddling around in the pond at the moment, with some adorable new little ducklings sticking their beaks out to say hello. Sharyn Veivers was joined by some cute little pond residents as she made her way onto the island to clear weeds.

01.01.2022 Entry to Orange Aquatic Centre will be free to all on Australia Day after the celebrations in Cook Park wrap up. The Orange Aquatic Centre will be open from 12pm to 5pm on Australia Day and weather permitting, all inflatables including the 22.5 metre obstacle course will be up and running.
