21.01.2022 I love this woman. A stunning, glowing model who isn't afraid to show reality also. The woman who created the phrase 'social media isn't real' and she is 100% c...orrect. I have spent over 10 years creating products and brands for Australian men, women and children. We always want to present ourselves in the best light.... We want to hide our flaws and imperfections in fear of being judged or made to feel insecure. As a makeup artist, a creator of beauty products, a freelance model AND a photographer I have seen the beauty industry and the fashion industry from every angle. I have transformed faces for the camera, coaxed smiles and confidence out of people in front of the camera for the first time and worked on TV commercials for the fashion industry. Then on the other side I have attended model calls and dress fittings having my booty and breast size measured and discussed by a panel and written into contracts. From the start to finish of fashion shoots I have been involved either as makeup artist, model, cosmetics supplier or photographer. What I see each time, is beautiful souls... perfectly human, often arriving with skin blemishes, under eye circles, stretch marks and frizzy hair. They spend several hours in hair and makeup and after the shoot often considerable time is spent on editing their face, body and teeth before their images are published. This is the same for all social media pics too. My message along with Danae's is 100 % this.. social media isn't real. If you must scroll, don't forget that the people you wish you could look like, be, or be with - are only showing their highlight reel of good poses, filtered & edited photos. Take your camera and photograph yourself and the things that bring you JOY. Please look in the mirror today and celebrate you... because comparing your realness to online fakeness is toxic to your soul.
