With this exercise we use all of the muscles responsible for posture and encourages better stability and strength needed to complete regular daily activities. ... Stand directly behind the bar/weight with your feet shoulder width apart. Squat down to the bar with your hips. Your shins should just touch the bar. Grasp onto the bar, create tension through your upper body and position your shoulder blades together and downwards. Push through your heels and straighten your knees. Towards the end of the movement push forward with your hips to straighten your back. Slowly lower the weight by hinging from your hips while maintaining tension through your shoulders until the weight is on the floor. However, like any other sport, it is important to be prepared in order to mitigate injuries where possible. Hydrate (water or hydrolyte) prior to and during running ALWAYS warm up and cool down Avoid doing too much soon.... Allow 24-48hours of recovery between running sessions when beginning. Start and finish with a light jog. Gradually build up speed, frequency and distance. Pay attention to your pain and cut down as needed. Include lower leg strength and stretching exercises into your routine. Avoid running when you are tired. Always carry identification and let someone know exactly where you are going.
