24.01.2022 This is the face of someone who carried the weight of bringing Out & Loud to Canberra for two years finally seeing it begin! Dave Worner, Convenor for Canberra Gay & Lesbian Qwire, made sure every i was dotted and every t was crossed. He was across every decision, brought our Fijian friends into the fold, chaired every meeting of the working group, undertook much of the liaison with sponsors and supporters, and still had the energy to smile when Qwire told him he had forgotten to welcome Auckland (he hadn’t!). Thanks, Dave. #weareCBR #outloudCBR #gratitude

22.01.2022 Did you get snapped at Out & Loud? Peter Hislop, one of our amazing volunteers didn't just spend the festival photographing us, he then spent months processing over a thousand photos to bring you the galleries now on our website: http://www.outandloudcbr.org.au/... Start your weekend with a trip down memory lane, and make sure you're in the know about your nearest LGBTIQ+ choir (or just follow all of them, like we do!): GALS: Gay and Lesbian Singers Auckland Lian Esperansa True Colours Chorus Darwin Brisbane Pride Choir Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir Canberra Qwire Melbourne Gay & Lesbian Chorus LOW REZ Melbourne Male Choir Adelaide Qwire Gay & Lesbian Singers of WA (GALSWA) Pacific Pride Choir And the next festival? Well, Cromatica LGBT brings together LGBT choirs from all over Italy in Milan this May! Roadtrip anyone?

19.01.2022 That website? MAC made that. All the way, through thunderstorms of changing priorities, landslides of altered times, whirlwinds of corrections and captions, MAC was there making sure the website didn’t just look schmick, but also worked for registrations and promotions. Hers is another one of the faces that made the festival run smoothly. Thanks, MAC! #weareCBR #outloudCBR #gratitude

18.01.2022 Looking incredibly fashionable in those flippy sunnies this is Ria Koppers! Not only does she make us smile on the uke, she made a whole bunch of folk smile during the festival by organising billets! It was no small task, but she handled it with all the flair you’d expect from a ukulele player! #weareCBR #outloudCBR #gratitude

10.01.2022 Behind every successful festival is someone worrying about every last detail! It works a whole lot better if that person is also a gem who is able to get people enthused about the project and keep an eye on where they need to collaborate. Yvonne Korn was ours, and without her Out & Loud 2019 would have been a bit of a shemozzle! Thanks, Yvonne. #weareCBR #outloudCBR #gratitude

09.01.2022 This is the happy face of Susan Nicholls, who was so passionate about Out & Loud that she just kept picking up different hats as we found them! She picked up marketing hats, she picked up music team hats, she picked up ticketing liaison hats, she picked up party hats: and kept a smile on her face the whole way through. Sadly, she didn’t have a hat on when Jade snapped this pic, but she was clearly enjoying the welcome function! Thanks, Susan! #weareCBR #outloudCBR #gratitude

09.01.2022 It looks like our choirs all over the region are gearing up for another year of bringing their communities together! As a little start-of-year inspiration, here’s our massed choral rendition of Andrea Bocelli’s haunting Fall On Me, featuring: Rainbow Free and Equal Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir... Gay & Lesbian Singers of WA (GALSWA) Melbourne Gay & Lesbian Chorus Lian Esperansa True Colours Chorus Darwin Brisbane Pride Choir GALS: Gay and Lesbian Singers Auckland Canberra Qwire And just a few sweet voices from Adelaide Qwire Make sure you don’t miss your local choir’s first rehearsal! #OutLoudCBR #WeAreCBR #QwiriesCan

05.01.2022 It’s Holocaust Memorial Day, and one of the best things to remember is that we are Stronger Together, so here’s a look back at the highlights of our last gathering! #StrongerTogether #OutLoudCBR

05.01.2022 Kia Douglas, our technical manager, was backstage at every little event of the festival, making sure every cable was plugged in, every performer was in situ, and every drink was drunk. And in case that wasn’t enough, she was also the driving force behind the Out & Loud Party on Saturday night, coordinating the volunteers, the lighting, the sound and of course the performers. If it wasn’t for Kia, we don’t know where we’d have ended up! Thanks, Kia. #weareCBR #outloudCBR #gratitude

04.01.2022 Take a look back on what was definitely the best weekend of the entire year! And all to the soundtrack of 300 Out & Louders singing Sally Whitwell’s stirring anthem for our times: ‘Stronger Together’ under the direction of Stephen Leek! A thousand thanks to the choirs who joined us in October:... GALS: Gay and Lesbian Singers Auckland Brisbane Pride Choir True Colours Chorus Darwin Lian Esperansa Melbourne Gay & Lesbian Chorus Gay & Lesbian Singers of WA (GALSWA) Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir Rainbow Free and Equal Canberra Qwire and our special buddies from Adelaide Qwire We could not have put this amazing festival together without the support of the ACT Government Office for LGBTIQ+ Affairs and Deloitte. And a great big thanks to our videographer Russell Nankervis - A Producer with Personality. #OutLoudCBR #WeAreCBR #QwiriesCan

03.01.2022 You may recognise Jessica Stewart as Canberra Gay and Lesbian Qwire’s accompanist, especially because she also accompanied the massed chorus and helped out Brisbane Pride Choir! But you probably don’t know that she was the driving force behind coordinating the workshops, which was no small feat! Between changes to availability, room requirements, equipment requirements and collating all that information, she really had her work cut out for her! The workshops would not have run so smoothly if it weren’t for her impeccable organisation. Thanks, Jess. #weareCBR #outloudCBR #gratitude

02.01.2022 Every team needs a Chris. This is our Chris. No, you can’t have her. Chris is Canberra Gay and Lesbian Qwire’s secretary, and without even blinking, she took on the role of keeping everything in order for Out & Loud as well! She managed our communication with sponsors and supporters, embassies and of course, ourselves. We could not have managed without her. Thanks, Chris. #weareCBR #outloudCBR #gratitude

01.01.2022 We hope you’re enjoying Global Pride 2020! We’re proud to be a part of the #GlobalPride community and seeing our people from around the world celebrating their pride despite lockdowns reminds us of the great time we had gathering together last October. Enjoy this and look forward to that time when we can all gather again! Happy Pride everyone!
