01.01.2022 Today’s kids craft-er-noon class was homemade texture paste which is used to add dimension to art and craft projects. The picture below with the orange diamonds is the effect of colouring the paste and spreading it over a stencil and letting the paste dry. Kids had in their kit a packet of bicarb soda and a pot of wet mix of equal parts of PVA glue and white acrylic paint. Recipe: Two parts bicarb to one part wet mix Stir together until thick, smooth and not falling when ...heaped onto the stirring stick. Add more wet if needed and a drop or three of water if it’s very grainy. It will look a little grainy though but settles smoother once dried. Add a drop of colour pigment to colour the paste. Date used plain white can be coloured after drying. Spread the paste over stencils. If the paste is a good consistency it won’t slip under the stencil but stay with in the stencil shape. Smooth using the side of a plastic card, scraping off the excess. See more
