21.01.2022 Hello everyone, As the number of coronavirus cases rise across Australia, the level of anxiety within the community is increasing. Feelings of worry and unease can be expected following a stressful event, such as the recent declaration of a global pandemic, however, it is important that we learn to manage our stress before it turns to more severe anxiety and panic.... The Australian Psychological Society (APS) has prepared this guide for Australians, outlining some useful strategies which can help both adults and children cope with the stress or anxiety experienced as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. https://www.psychology.org.au//20APS-IS-COVID-19-Public-P2 I will shortly provide you with an update on my Facebook page on how my practices on the Gold Coast (Robina Therapy) and Brisbane (Axis Psychology) are preparing to respond to our clients needs during this period. In the meantime, lets keep everything in perspective. Yes, these are challenging times, but we are well equipped and prepared to deal with the challenges ahead. Keep safe, Pejman

18.01.2022 .... . . . . Importance of our relations with ourselves . . . After years of clinical work and treating hundreds of patients, my most important observation is that a person’s relation with him/herself is, in most cases, the greatest predictor of one’s health. . . . In other words, the most important relationship that we experience throughout our lives is our relationship with ourselves. . . . If you love yourself deep inside and believe that you deserve love, kindness, and respect from others, regardless of your financial, social, and personal achievements, you are more likely to feel happy and fortunate in your life because you believe that you deserve it. . . . On the other hand, if you bear a feeling of guilt from the past or some form of unresolved shame, or if y

16.01.2022 .... . . . . . Responsibility and accepting one’s mistakes One of the most important factors in understanding one’s personality is the ability to accept one’s mistakes. Despite the common belief that bullies, tyrant, and stubborn people, and those who feel superior to others are generally considered strong, healthy, or successful, these properties are often signs of a fragile personality. A responsible person is one who allows himself/herself to make mistakes. And when he/she commits an error, they can feel the emotions of remorse and guilt and, therefore, correct that mistake. In simple terms, being responsible and accepting mistakes are signs of strength, maturity, and health. #_ #__ #_ # # #responsibility #responsibleperson #mistakes #strength #maturity #health

14.01.2022 Words of wisdom by Jon Frederickson on the problems of equating oneself to a diagnosis, a label, or a story. Diagnosis is one of the most confusing and misunderstood aspects of psychotherapy. In short, psycho-diagnosis, with words like Major Depressive Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, or Borderline Personality Disorder, are labels that clinicians use to increase/improve communication, by lumping up a range of symptoms to one another. Unlike many medical conditions however, the etiology of psychological disorders is often unclear, and varies from one individual to another. So the the name of your disorder does not explain why you have such disorder. You are not a diagnosis, you are way more complex than that! Thanks to Jon for another insightful post.

14.01.2022 ( ) . DSM (Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders) . . . : ) ... . ) . ) . ) (productivity) . ) . Mental Health Mental health does not simply mean the absence of clinical symptoms (fear, anxiety, depression), or social abnormalities such as addiction or obsessive-compulsive disorders. The DSM (Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders) is a symptom-based research, while these symptoms dont explain the fundamental reasons of various disorders. For example, felling chest pain is a symptom, not a disorder. Mental Health can be discussed under five topics: a) Extent of clinical symptoms such as joy, sorrow, anxiety, serenity, etc. b) Extent of self-awareness, meaning the level of ones knowledge of his/her experiences, beliefs, and origins of actions. c) Self-Confidence, meaning a realistic understanding of ones advantages and disadvantages. d) Productivity, which is usually reserved for professional or educational fields. e) Ability to form intimate emotional relationships, and to be able to engage in internal emotional experiences in presence of others. #Psychology #Psychotherapy #Iran #Iranian #brisbane #brisbane #iranian_brisbane #mentalhealth # #_ # # #_ #_ ## # # # #selfawareness #insight #immigration # #oppennesstochange #pejmanhoviatdoost #pejmanhoviatdoostpsy

10.01.2022 . ... . . . ! ............................... Parental Attunement Parental attunement is the parent’s capacity to tune in to their child’s internal world and therefore understanding their thoughts, feelings, motivations and behaviors. It enables the parent to respond in a way that meets the child’s needs in that moment. Young children have needs for connection and needs for exploration. Parents who are attuned to those needs, understand the balance. Among providing safety and security, they encourage exploration, autonomy and mastery of the child’s environment. # #_ # #children #childrenneeds #parenting

09.01.2022 What is good and what is bad? What is right and what is wrong? How do we define such concepts? As human beings, we are sometimes unable to respond to these most basic questions. What does it mean to live an ethical life? How could we know that we are good people? The answer to these questions used to be in religion, traditions and customs. We were encouraged to learn from holy books or to comply with our customs and traditions. The times have now changed, and we now questi...on our religion, customs, and traditions more than ever before, and rightly so. So how could we live an ethical life? How could we know that we are good? I believe that there are only two principles that we need to follow to be a good person. First, you should never act in a way that is against your basic principles. If you believe in honesty, dont lie, dont cheat, dont trick. If you believe in peace, do not take arms. If you believe that all human beings are equal, treat everyone with the same respect that you would like to be treated. Second, never commit an action that harms another human or Sentient being. You are entitled to live the life that you wish, as long as you do not hurt others. . . . . . . . . . .

07.01.2022 . ... . . . . . . . Fear and anxiety are both alarm systems in our body, signaling and preparing the body to respond to a danger. Fear often activates the body to protect itself physically, anxiety activates us to defend ourselves psychologically. With fear we are often aware of the cause or trigger of our fear, with anxiety we might not be aware of the cause. Intense experiences of fear, such as a life-threatening experience, or painful relational experiences, such as a break up or a loss, could lead to long-term anxiety problems. It is important to become aware of fear and anxiety responses in our body, because the fear and anxiety system affect a large range of our physical and psychological processes. If you don't know yourself, you will hurt yourself. ____________________ # # #_ #fear #anxiety #individualpsychology

01.01.2022 . . ... Muslims and Tolerance In my opinion, the problem Muslims are dealing with is not the fact that someone showed an image or a caricature of their prophet in a classroom somewhere in the world. I think that the problem the Muslim society is facing today is that when someone commits a crime in the name of their religion and decapitates a human being, instead of protesting in masses against this act of hatred, they come to the streets to protest for a picture shown in a classroom. # # # # #_ # #muslims #islam #religion #tolerance #muslimsociety #psychology #samuelpaty
