22.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone, Two years ago I watched this show and was stunned by the Scientific breakthrough. Since then, we have been consuming purple carrots as often as we can. But it got me thinking what about our pets? ... They too need our help to optimise their bodily functions. I asked Bill our Performadog Nutritionist if we could somehow add purple carrots to our Performadog and iPurr formulations. He tried, and it proved non-cost effective, so we produced a much better and more viable idea. It has 13 kg of Purple Carrot condensed into 1 kg. Can you imagine how many carrots you would need to consume to get the amount of Anthocyanin the body needs? Bill also added multiple probiotics to help the microbiome, and the result is 'Performadog Purple Boost'. Have a wonderful day.

21.01.2022 Dear Performadog, I am sharing with you images of Scotty. The one on the left was taken just after I got him. The one on the right is one week after swapping to Performadog Ultra Premium. While I had seen marked improvement after removing chicken from his diet, I have to say that the improvement after a week on Performadog is highly evident. ... Now I don't know if it's just me, but he also seems to be a lot more relaxed in general. I introduced him to another dog, and he was good as gold, the perfect gentleman! I have been hand feeding him as you instructed as per our dog training lesson and it is going well, no issues at all- he loves it. Thank you for such good quality food as the difference in just over a week is quite evident. Cheers, Georgia Melbourne Performadog - Energy For Life

13.01.2022 An excellent question from Janine. Do you have a breakdown of how carbs, protein etc are in your products? Im not keen on grains and others fillers. Is there a place for them in a dogs diet or are they just fillers? ===========================================... Hi Janine, What a terrific question and one we get asked all the time. But, as with many questions, there is not a simple yes or no answer, so let's look at the issues one at a time. In days gone by grain has been used as a filler. So too has several other ingredients including yummy cellulose sources such as ground straw and sawdust. But when we get to the standard of nutrition that is the basis of Performadog, there is simply no room in a kilogram of food for fillers. To achieve the level of efficiency of use that Performadog delivers, we have to move to higher and higher quality ingredients to complete the required nutrient profile. Grain is not cheap, it used to be, but not anymore. The concept in this day and age of using grain as a cheap filler is an oxymoron. Sawdust yes, grain no! A correctly formulated grain-free diet is no different from a precisely formulated diet containing grain. Nutritional efficacy is not determined by individual ingredients, but by ingredient combinations and the subsequent essential nutrients that combination of ingredients supplies to the animal eating the food. Grain-free food is not inherently better. In fact, it is quite the contrary. To make a correctly balanced grain-free food is far more complicated than food containing grain simply because 'grain' is such a concentrated source of carbohydrate. It doesn't take up much room in the kilogram of food, and the carbohydrate is the glue that holds the food together and delivers the trademark crunch that is synonymous with dry food. Additionally, there are as many sick dogs in the world eating grain-free food as there are sick dogs eating foods containing grain. Carbohydrate is a useful nutrient in dog food. The suggestion carbohydrate is bad for a dog, or the dog can't digest carbohydrate is simply false. The only place where doubt can be shed on the inclusion of carbohydrate is when it is present at inappropriate levels. In other words, where the balance of the diet is incorrect. But the same point applies equally to all of the other ingredients used in a diet, so the argument becomes null and void. In summary, food is nutritious and healthy when it is made from a blend of appropriate ingredients that delivers the correct nutrition for both the microbial population in the gut microbiome as well as the correct balance of essential nutrients to meet the genetic requirements of the dog. Anything less than this is inappropriate and will always negatively impact the animal. And this is why Performadog is made the way it's made! Kind regards, Bill Wiadrowski - Performadog Nutritionist www.performadog.com.au

10.01.2022 The Reward Rewards are perhaps the most critical component in your training. Many times, rewards are taken for granted, because the assumption is that the reward is rewarding because we believe it is with little consideration for what the dog feels and reveals in its behaviour. A reward is only as good as its value to the dog. Too often, our perception of a rewarding event, is, in fact, not satisfying to the dog. The value a dog holds in the reward is something that is built ...by desire, propagated by pleasant association and the motivation and satisfaction it creates due to necessity like hunger or genetic compulsion to chase and engage the ball, sleeve or bite suit. Take food, for example; we ask our dog to sit, place a bowl of food on the ground so that the dog can eat it. The motivation to eat will depend mainly on the dog's state of hunger or how much of a pleasant taste it provides, so palatability is essential for motivation alongside hunger. At the core of that mouth full of food and when the unpleasant feeling of hunger decreases, a pleasant feeling is established like a human would say 'yum'. At the very core of that 'yum' the earliest brain processing in a rewarding experience is the release of the chemical dopamine by the nerve cells, the neurons in the midbrain. Neuroscientist used to think that dopamine was the single chemical of pleasure. Now they understand that dopamine handles a particular part of a broader pleasurable experience. Dopamine tells the brain whether the reward is noticeable substantial, and when a reward is better than expected. What if we could open the pathway for an increased reward association and improve memory retention? #dogtrainingbooks #dogs #dogsofinstagram #dogtraining #vonforell #performadog #iPurr #trainingdogs #rewards

10.01.2022 Thank you Drew Romeo What a relief! My dogs first year without an injection for itching! After trying multiple brands of food on the market, nothing seemed to be the right fit for my dog. From very reputable high-end brands to less known brands, grain-free, sensitive skin.....the list goes on. ... I always had in the back of my mind surely these can't be an ideal/complete diet for my dog. With the itching continuing and still no solution, we put him on an allergy diet consisting of sweet potato & horse, which was recommended by a veterinary specialist. What a labour intensive and messy time that was! The itching seemed to subside, but still evident. Once again, that thought of how can I give a complete diet with no itching when I am recommended only to serve a few ingredients. After the thought of never being able to feed biscuits again due to the previous history we had experienced, I didn't have much faith in finding a solution until I came across Performadog. Performadog's nutritional specialist spoke with me about my dog's issues, overall dog nutrition and didn't hide anything regarding the ingredients. After chatting with him and was given a transition plan from Ocean fish, limited ingredients to normal Ocean fish which had been successful for many other dogs with similar symptoms was indeed a relief. After completing the short trial and then committing to the plan my dog now has a diet that is full of clean ingredients and balanced in a way that I have never seen his fur shine like before and rebounding energy levels to meet his working requirements. The whole process has been a blessing from the first time I picked up the phone and spoke with Performadog about my dog's nutrition requirements, to now having no itching symptoms and a dog that's nutrition requirements are met in every aspect. 09.01.2022 Stay ahead of your dog: Plan your shaping program thoroughly so that if and when the dog makes swift or dramatic progress, you are aware of what to reinforce. One important thing that cannot be overstated is the need for immediate flexibility when a plan does not progress accordingly. Often trainers are confronted with this situation and therefore must develop a reflexive and intuitive ability in their training management. Many times, trainers are adamant at sticking to the p...lan and are determined to follow it through regardless of the dog's responses. A plan should never be set in stone, and although we hope to achieve our aim, it is the dog that determines the outcome of each training session reassuring total control of its environment and consequences. Additionally, early in any dog's development, learning is stressful, and this must be considered when teaching new behaviours. We can never separate the process of instrumental and classical conditioning; hence behaviour isn't clinical-like in a laboratory. So, we need to be mindful of how dogs are feeling and perceiving the learning event as well as all the associated signalling that is forever present when training the dog. www.performadog.com.au #dog #trainingdogs #performadog #vonforell #obedience

05.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE Good Morning Australia, The Solution For Optimum Growth and Microbiome Health in Dog May Have Arrived! ... Dear Dog Breeders, Trainers and Owners Performadog is working on a new formulation designed explicitly for weaning puppies and are in the initial stages of trials and documentation with a view of presenting a detailed guide on how to maximise growth potential in your puppy to achieve optimum genetic expression. Correctly feeding a growing puppy can be the most important and life-changing aspect of dog ownership. But why is feeding a young animal so important, and so different, from feeding an adult dog? More importantly, why is our philosophy so vastly different from conventional thinking? From a nutrition perspective, the most amount of work the body does is when it grows, and as the puppy ages, the amount of work required to grow reduces. This is because growth is defined as the rate of cell multiplication in the body. This rate of proliferation is most significant at birth and slowly reduces until growth ceases when maturity is reached. For example, a new-born pup weighing 100g could grow by as much as 10g per day or 10% of its body weight. Whereas the same puppy at 1kg growing at 50g per day is only increasing its body weight by 5% per day. Therefore the amount of work required by the body in the early stages is much higher than the amount of work needed in later stages of growth. The reason for this change in nutritional requirements can best be explained by looking at what is happening in the body of a puppy. We will delve into this subject in detail at a later date. Until then, we would be very interested in your opinion and views on a specially targeted diet to help all dog's Microbiome beginning the very first day they consume food. 01.01.2022 Thank you, Grant Edwards, from Adelaide Australia for your testimonial on our Performadog 'Purple Boost'. =========================================== "I want to commend Performadog on the advice provided me by your nutritionist and give a real thumbs up to your purple boost product. ... Through circumstances, my German Shepherd male (now 18 months) went onto another high-quality, expensive, grain-free brand name dog food after finishing with his Performadog Puppy food. He was appropriately transitioned and was not given any "doggy fast food". Yet from the outset, his stool became runny with little solid fecal matter. In deciding to go back to Performadog adult dog food (my previous two Shepherds have loved it and lived in excellent health), I spoke with the nutritionist who suggested I try the 'Purple Boost' Immuno- Stimulant supplement. I bought some and while still using the other brand name food because I had an ample amount left, added it to his diet in an amount a fraction less than the container recommended for his body weight. Within two feeds, his stool was perfect, and he hasn't regressed since. I have also noticed a difference in his attentiveness even though he is a reasonably high-drive dog. Thanks for the advice Kris and Bill and for the "boost" to my dog's digestive system". www.performadog.com.au #nutritioncoach #purpleboost #dogtrainingadvice #australianmade #ipurrcatfood #microbiome
