23.01.2022 2021 Registrations Using 2020 Active Kids Vouchers ........ Just a reminder to everyone that 2021 registrations are currently open and we are offering an early bird special again. Also kids playing for the first year in under 6 do not have to pay rego. The club waves your registration. There are also family discounts. I am also hearing that many people haven’t used their second active kids voucher for 2020 due to covid. ... Your 2020 active kids vouchers will expire 31/12/2020. If you haven’t already used your two vouchers for 2020 then get in and register before end of December. That way you will get two new ones for 2021 to use elsewhere. All coaching positions are now vacant, so please do not assume we know you want to coach a team even if you have discussed with a present or past committee member. 19.01.2022 Coaching Applications ..... If your thinking about coaching a team for next year please don’t wait, throw an application in!! We have a couple of age groups with no applicants yet, but I know this is just people being slack not sending the email to apply. You don’t need to have a current coaching certificate, there are plenty of courses in early 2021 to get your certification.... We also have a couple of age groups with more than one applicant so the process is simply interviews with the committee for all applicants and then a vote. Any questions give me a call. 18.01.2022 Coaching Update ......... Please join me in welcoming Ethan Cruickshank to the coaching ranks at Picton!!!! Ethan has agreed to coach the Under 15 team in 2021. This shows the caliber of young men coming out of our club that one of our outgoing 16’s want to remain a part of it all and give his time back to the kids. Great work Ethan. ... A reminder that under 15 are still with me and the under 16’s for this week. Training is at XXX Fight Academy tomorrow night. Starts at 6pm. Please make sure you bring your own bottle and please wear a tight shirt. See you there A reminder to all, of your not registered you cannot train. So get registered and join the mighty magpies!! 17.01.2022 How good is this!!!! Congratulations Dean Cotton and Luke Keppie for making the Harold Mathews Summer train on squad. Much smaller squad this year than usual due to the age group changes so hoping to see these two boys in the mighty wests tigers colours in 2021! We are so proud of all the boys who were asked to trial for these representative teams. Future is looking bright for Picton Juniors!!

16.01.2022 Unfortunately our great club family has lost a loved one. Cristy Browns mother passed away last Thursday after a long and hard fought battle. For our new families Cristy and Dave have been great supporters and volunteers in our club. Her son Calem has always played in the under 15 year group and Kaci has always been around the grounds too Our hearts and thoughts are with the entire Brown family at this tough time. May she Rest In Peace

14.01.2022 URGENT Parents of Under 14 & Under 15/16 ..... With the COVID restrictions in place for this weekends Grand Final, the games will be live streamed on YouTube (I have already shared the link). However some parents may have their kids profile set to ‘private’. This obviously has some issues when we are trying to broadcast games and names etc. Coach each of you log onto your kids My Sideline profile and check if it is private or public. 08.01.2022 AGM Reminder ......... Just a reminder that the AGM is being held THIS Thursday at the clubhouse at the oval. The time has been brought forward to 6pm to allow the seniors to have a meeting straight after at 7.30 Please come down and nominate for a position. We have a few people either finished or finishing next year with the juniors so we need more volunteers ... Hope to see you all there!!

07.01.2022 Grand Final Results ....... Yesterday the club played in two Grand Finals - the Under 14 and the Under 15/16. A great result for the club being in two of the senior age groups Unfortunately the Under 14 team was defeated by a very well coached and physical Narellan outfit. A couple of injuries certainly didn’t help the boys cause, but they fought hard until the last seconds of the game and never gave up. The club is super proud of you boys and we hope to see you all back ag...ain next year to try and go one better!! The Under 15/16 team were winners!! We defeated a very talented Camden team in golden point extra time. From a group of young men that were looking down the barrel of not fielding a team this year, to beating an undefeated Camden team this way we couldn’t be prouder of you. A couple of you boys would play your game and then pull on a Jersey for the 16a and run out with them and play that game too. So from the club - thank you for your support. The entire team showed strength and the will to win yesterday well above your ages. A true example of a team wanting to win for themselves and each other. Congratulations to the coaching staff and players on this courageous win.

05.01.2022 Help needed for mini field in 2021 ...... Hi all. We will desperately need Level 1 Sports Trainers (Blue Shirts) for the mini field in 2021. I have done it up until now, but Brax goes to Under 10's next year, so I won't be able to do it. There is a little bit of a commitment to do the course, it's generally 2 days or 4 nights, but the club will pay for the course and you will get the just reward of wiping many a teary eye, listening to a sobbing explanation of how that blade ...of grass has tore a massive gash in their knee and if your really really lucky the odd bit of snot. In short there is never really to many serious injuries on this field and it will give you experience for when your child is playing big boy footy on the main field in years to come. And finally, my threat or info for the new parents ...... we aren't allowed to start a game without a blue shirt present on the field. So no blue shirt means no games of footy. The course are listed below. Just log in and add yourself to the list and then let me know so we can reimburse you your money. Please see below for a draft schedule for NSW Sports Trainer courses in Jan and early Feb 2021. Once these courses are confirmed they will be available for registrations on our website https://learn.playrugbyleague.com. 02.01.2022 Under 14 Girls League Tag ........ You are NOT starting training tomorrow. As a lot of girls are still playing Oz Tag, these teams will start in a couple of weeks. To confirm the following teams are commencing training tomorrow. Please all meet at the BBQ hut at 5pm for a brief discussion with me and then you will go with your respective coaches... Under 10 Under 11 Under 12 Under 13 Under 14 (boys tackle only) Under 15 - you are with me and the 16’s. 01.01.2022 URGENT clarification re tickets for Grand Final .... I’ve had a few calls today, so let Me clarify the ticket situation for the Grand Final. ONE ticket allows ONE playing child and ONE adult into ground. Let me give two examples to clarify;... 1. Car has two adults (coach and parent) and one kid (player) and they have 2 tickets - no problems for entry. 2. Car has one adult (parent) and two kids (both playing) and they have one ticket - one person isn’t entering. This car needs TWO tickets Once your game is finished both teams will stay with their own team around the 40mtr line. The referee will get their medal. Each captain will go up and get a bag full of their medals (and hopefully the premiership trophy). Player of the day will get his trophy. Then the teams will exit through the gate near the tower for a team photo and leave the premises. Hopefully this clears a few things up. Any questions give me a call. 01.01.2022 Coaches/Managers ........ Could you please return the jerseys and any equipment you have this week, either Tuesday or Thursday. I will be at the ground from about 4.30 to 7pm both days. Thanks This year the only jerseys that will be given out to the kids are;... Under 6 Under 16A We also have an executive committee meeting on Thursday this week. We will make an announcement after this meeting on a variety of topics. I do appreciate that the season is over for many of you and everyone would love to know exactly what is going on, but we have some current and upcoming financial commitments we need to understand better before we make any further commitments.
