24.01.2022 Cleaned out 2 more river water tanks of sludge today. Knackered now. 3 out of 3 river water tanks now done. Was frustrating day though, lots of little issues al...ong the way so it took a lot longer than it should have. Like threaded fitting breaking off in tank outlet, so the we had the get broken bit out of threaded tank outlet so we could put in new fitting, luckily we had a spare. The final bummer at the end of it all was we tried to transfer water into the newly cleaned tank & smoke starts to come out of our irrigation pump so it is probably stuffed. We then had remove to pump ready to take in to be looked at to see if it can be repaired or if we need to buy another pump, probably another $2000 replacement. Did not need that at the end of the day, but at least we have running water again. See more

24.01.2022 So over all the cold wind the last week, nice to have a bit of sun & no wind for a change. Thought I go for a wander around the garden with the camera this morning with out the wind and a bit of sun.

20.01.2022 Pilwarren will not be running the Nude Games next January 2021. We do not have the man power to control Social Distancing on a public beach. After running the event for 7 years David and I decided the we are retiring. We would like to thank all the Volunteers and Supporters, who helped us to make this Event happen. Anyone willing to take it on are welcome to it. You will get our support with any help needed.

20.01.2022 Enjoying a quiet red at sunset after the thunderstorms this afternoon. Kookaburra checking out Grey Shrike Thrush telling Kookaburra to go away from it nest. So...rry Picture quality not good - point & shoot camera. By the time I got other camera out it would have been all over & missed opportunity. Ollie got upset when Kookaburra flew off. Was interesting seeing the wildlife interaction happening. See more

20.01.2022 A pair of birds have decided to make a nest in our pot plant by our front door, but I have not been successful in getting a photo of them on the nest. Think they are grey shrike - thrush.

19.01.2022 A great haul today. They were grown in a wicking bed.

19.01.2022 At first we thought there was only three baby grey shrike thrush nesting in a hanging pot plant near our front door, but recently found out there are 4 in the nest. Took these photos this morning.

15.01.2022 We have built a cover for the BBQ so we can move it out of the covered BBQ area to make a bit more space under cover for guests.

15.01.2022 Lawn maintenance on the job mowing & fertilising this afternoon.

11.01.2022 Had to grease the solar pump on the island this weekend. Kayak trip over to island, point & shoot camera only, did not want to risk the good camera in the kayak. Red back spider on solar pump, 2 swans nests, 3 eggs in one nest, 5 eggs in the other. Lots of flowers on the island. Brian won the fishing competition as usual 6.48kg & 3.6kg carp. Sorry no photos of the carp, all went into compost bin will make good compost for veggies. Lots of carp in amongst the water weeds wallowing at the surface making sucking noises, don't know why they do that.

11.01.2022 Enjoying a quiet red at sunset under the veranda after the thunderstorms this afternoon. Quiet Red at sunset then drizzle set in.

10.01.2022 Another big day today. Emptied & cleaned fish pond, then the wine barrel water feature, then the lily bath, then the water trap in the mini golf course hole number 18, then the water trap in hole 16 then installed a new water line & pump. Debbie re potted the water plants & lilies.

09.01.2022 Busy day outside in the sun again today. Set up a bench for tree tubes for native seedlings next to the wooden boxes with glass lids that I made the other week ready to grow more vegetable seedlings. While Debbie weeded the gardens I cleaned the concrete & paves in the BBQ area with the pressure cleaner, still more to clean tomorrow. Carrots are growing well in raised garden bed, have to cover lettuce with netting other wise kangaroos eat them.

09.01.2022 Out door games on Saturday November the 21st. Come and enjoy some games of Petanque, Finska or any other games that comes to mind. Hope to see you here.

08.01.2022 45.4 degrees here at present outside, 26.3 inside no air con at present!

06.01.2022 Took these photos a few years back, on a tree just outside my workshop at home. Never seen one before & never seen one since. Giant Robber fly.

06.01.2022 Had a couple of visitors today, they don't usually visit our side of the River. Did a bit of weeding for us while visiting.

04.01.2022 I think we really pissed the bees off today. Slashed all the flowers (even if they are only weeds) with the mower & sniper wipper ready for the long weekend annual fishing competition followed by SA Confest. Only took 2 & 1/2 hours this time usually takes 3 hours, not so much growth this time.

03.01.2022 New Years Eve - Rock N Roll theme
