25.01.2022 What a beautiful sunny Sunday it is today! if you looking for something to do, why not head on down to E.P.F.C Community Market? Its opening day and promises to be a lot of fun for the whole family!

25.01.2022 The children thought it was great to add some water into the sand pit on this warm day! It was great to see the older children working together to make their ideas come to life as well as helping the younger children and its always great to see the younger children exploring with new textures and experiences

22.01.2022 Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Just a reminder that tomorrow is the last chance to return your Kytons order form and money. Kytons is a wonderful way to support the centre in these hard times and isolation will be made a whole lot tastier with a Kytons Hot Cross Bun! Piccy of Susan Quinn just because she's so beautiful

21.01.2022 Good Morning! Just a little information regarding food shortages . As I am sure you are all well aware this COVID-19 madness has hit the grocery stores particularly hard. We would like to assure you that this has not affected the high level of nutritionally balanced meals we are dedicated to providing the children in our care, but these shortages have made it difficult for us to stick with our planned menu. Because of this we have decided for the moment we will be taking it ...week by week, each Monday a new menu will be displayed near the kitchen. . We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has offered to buy us various items. We appreciate your generosity, it is times like these you can really see the wonderful community spirit within our centre! . Stay Safe See more

21.01.2022 Todays lunch was pastys made with pumpkin, celery, onion, carrot, potato and beef mince! The children loved it and enjoyed eating lunch under the veranda while watching the rain today

21.01.2022 Christmas is rapidly approaching and as always we're reminded of Adelaide's homeless and the men, women and families doing it tough. To support them we are participating in the 15 Can Challenge. We will be collecting 1 can per week for the next 15 weeks leading up to Christmas. These non perishable items will then be donated for distribution to the homeless and those in need by Cos We Care. We will be dropping off our collection on the 7th December. A collection point has been set up in the foyer if you would like to participate in this good cause. Also Cos We Care volunteers will be at the Elizabeth Shopping Centre outside of Coles till 430pm doing the "Fill our Trolley" drive. If youd like to say hi and pop something in their trolley.

20.01.2022 Some more exploring inside on a cold rainy day. The children used the boxes in all different ways - they spent time sitting in them, building them into houses and filling them with toys!

20.01.2022 We at TRY Playford Children's Centre would like to wish you all a very happy and safe Easter!

20.01.2022 AS OF RIGHT NOW Currently Long Day Care (Us) are to run as normal. Business as usual - including the Kindy programme offered. Parents now have up to 62 days of allowable absences (originally 42) due to the current circumstances. We can apply these to accounts without medical evidence to support otherwise.... IF STATE GOVERNMENT close centres (us) - then parents will not be charged anything and we now will receive the Child Care Subsidy portion of our enrolled families (as of the date of closure). This law is new - HOWEVER - If children do not stay enrolled the amount of CCS we receive will not represent how we were actually functioning before the emergency began. SO WHAT AM I ASKING FROM YOU... (I dont have any steak knives to throw into this offer, sorry!) IF YOU HAVE LOST YOUR JOB Firstly, I am so sorry. We will get through this together, somehow. I just know it. If you have lost your job/income/financial hardship - please apply for Additional Child Care Subsidy. This covers 100% of your fees for up to 13 weeks. You apply through your mygov account... here are the steps >> https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au//applying-during-temp IF YOU ARE WORKING FROM HOME You are still allowed to send your children to us. And if you are comfortable to do so and they are healthy, please do as the consistency can help them and also you by remaining able to receive an income. Please check with your employer, and Fair Work if needed, as employers do not have to pay employees to work at home if they are also caring for children. This grey area has not been communicated well by Government or media at the moment, which I understand as there is one million different things happening at the same time. IF YOU ARE WANTING TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME If you are wanting to keep your children home and are still working, please keep your enrolment with us active. Dependent what happens over the coming hours/days/weeks we need to ensure our enrolments are maintained so that we are eligible for Child Care Subsidy if and when shutdown occurs. This means I can keep our amazing staff in meaningful work for as long as possible and keep paying rent for the foreseeable future. We legally (still as of today) have to charge the family a gap fee hence why apart from holidays I cannot change this part of the dilemma. I 100% get the conundrum we are in. ACCS is there to help if your income before this emergency has changed. Please use it if you can, it will mean the world to us. We are here for you. We always have been. Everything we do is for our children, your children.

15.01.2022 Today we had yummy Hawaiian , Meatlovers and Vegetarian pizzas on homemade pizza dough a new centre favourite for sure! The dough was super easy with only two ingredients but the kneading and rolling will give those arms a work out! Pizza Dough Recipe ... 1kg Greek Style Yoghurt 6 Cups Self Raising Flour Step 1 Mix flour and Greek yogurt together in a bowl; transfer to a work surface floured with self-raising flour. Knead dough, adding more flour as needed to keep dough from being too sticky, for 8 to 10 minutes Step 2 Roll to desired size and place on a baking paper lined tray ready for toppings. See more

09.01.2022 This week we spent time learning about Anzac Day through videos, craft and food; please enjoy our display to honour them and be sure to take a toy solider to keep within your home to remember them by always. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. Lest we forget

08.01.2022 Some of our experiences from last week when it was pouring with rain and we couldnt get outside so we brought the outside, inside! The children interacted with the experiences and negotiated the space so well.

08.01.2022 The children absolutely love to see Kristen and James from bugs and slugs and all of the insects they bring with them! The experience gives the children the opportunity to handle some of the bugs and look at the others with the magnify glasses.

08.01.2022 Last week we participated in national simultaneous story time. The children were encouraged to sit down and listen to the story as well as do colouring in during the day and other activities! The pre-kindy and kindy children collaged dancing chicken earlier in the month

08.01.2022 The children and educators had a fantastic time celebrating Tommys birthday yesterday! They had party food, birthday cake and did tommy the turtle themed activities throughout the day! We are very lucky to have Tommy in the service with us

07.01.2022 Do you love passion fruits?! We do! And we are very excited that we have some growing on our passion fruit plant at the moment in our community garden! There is also some parsley, garlic chives, mint, rosemary and basil available! Incase you didnt know, we do have a community garden that is situated in front of the building (you cant really miss it!) this garden is open to everyone (even if you dont attend the centre) and can be accessed at any time to harvest fruits and vegetables or add a plant to the garden if you have some spare we are always happy to share but to ensure that we are able to continue offering this to the community, please dont remove whole plants, this garden is funded by the staff that work at the centre. We hope you love and enjoy it as much as we do

07.01.2022 Found this on an early childhood page and thought it was worth a share. I need my job just as much as the next person- keep the world going for the future and your childs future too. PLEASE DONT JUST UNENROL YOUR CHILDREN FROM THEIR EARLY EDUCATION AND CARE CENTRES PLEASE !!!! There is so much uncertainty in the world at the moment and so many people are losing their jobs, please dont add your child's educators to that list.... I am NOT saying you should send them if you dont feel comfortable. What I am saying is DONT UNENROL THEM. Talk to your centre first. There are a number of things in place from the government to help families and to stop centres from going bankrupt but these measures are only helpful if the children STAY ENROLLED. Firstly, if you or your partner has lost their job or had your wages cut, you can go on to your mygov page and apply for temporary financial hardship. This means that the government will pay your childcare fees in FULL for 13 weeks. The government has also committed to paying the CCS portion of the fees in the event that the centres do go in to lock down. What this means for centres is that we can keep paying our educators, our rent, etc etc etc. It means that at the end of all of this, there will be centres to send your children to. I implore you, please speak to your centre director and find out your options, BEFORE just pulling your children out. It will make the world of difference to our sector.

06.01.2022 Freshly baked bread for afternoon tea today! Baked in our very own kitchen this morning

05.01.2022 The pre-kindy and kindy children had great fun this week learning about different cultures for International Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander childrens day. Some of our experiences included doing painting inspired by dream time stories and creating our own dream time story pictures on the carpet using chalk!

04.01.2022 TRY Playford Childrens Centre would like to inform you that unless we are informed or directed otherwise, we will be staying open. We would also like to take this chance to ensure you that we are following all health precautions to stop the spread of any infections and strongly encourage you to the do the same to assist in this process!

02.01.2022 We have been fortunate over the past few weeks to receive a lovely weekly donation of fresh bread , rolls and other bakery items for you to take as you need. These were donated by a wonderful organization called Cos We Care. They provide good meals and much-needed items to the homeless and vulnerable in Adelaide and Northern suburbs. It would be wonderful if we could pay their kindness forward and support their Christmas drive by popping 1 extra pantry item in the trolley each time we shop and bring it in to leave in our donation bin right next to Susan'sdoor. We are currently in week 5 of the 15 can challenge but its never to late to join in1
