13.01.2022 Hi everyone! Just Pat here, while I'm putting together my first video all about strength and conditioning, I thought I should post something about the supplements I'm currently taking. As a disclaimer: Before taking any supplements you should seek advice from your healthcare practitioner to make sure they're right for you. Supplements are exactly that, they are designed to supplement your diet, not to replace anything in your diet, they're simply there to help assist it. This... is a list of the supplements I take and a few reasons why. From left to right we have 1. Magnesium Tablets 2. Vitamin D Tablets 3. Creatine Monohydrate 4. Vitamin B and C Tablets ______________________________________ Magnesium as an essential mineral has many benefits it can aid the brain with the processing of information and assist with sleep. With magnesium deficiencies can come a couple of issues including having a negative impact on performance within the gym and lead to greater chances of cramps. See the link below for more info. Vitamin D is a vitamin that helps your body better absorb calcium which is beneficial when it comes to keeping our bones, teeth and muscles healthy. See the link below for more info. Creatine monohydrate, one of my favourite supplements as I know it works and there have been a significant number of research papers backing up its claims. It has been shown to increase strength, muscle mass, benefit both high intensity and endurance based cardio and it is hugely helpful in recovery. See the link below for more info. Vitamin B has a positive effect on energy levels, brain function and cell health. It also assists in healthy eye sight (apparently my body didn't read the memo) and healthy brain and nerve function. Vitamin C has been shown to assist with growth and repair of tissue within the body. I take all of these supplements to help assist, primarily, for my recovery from workouts and also maximising my ability to build strength. Just because I take them doesn't mean you have to or should, they are just an option you may wish to take (please see your doctor if you're unsure). Thanks guys!
