25.01.2022 What a heart warming video!

25.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that the team must announce that Maxine, our beloved clinic cat, said her final goodbyes on Thursday 11th March. After a short but tough battle with kidney disease. Maxine became our clinic cat some 6years ago after no one came forward to claim her. In no time at all she had made herself comfortable, with the staff room and reception her most loved places to hang. She showed us over the years just how human-like her personality could be. Contes...ting when it was time to go to bed, she was more than offended when we put her on a diet! The never ending ripped open dog food bags were a clear statement from her telling us to bugger off! Even her uncanny ability to know when a client was upset, you would find her curled up next to them on a chair or at their feet. Just offering them her quiet yet sweet company. We will never quite know just how old she was or where her life began. What we do know, is that she had a great big heart and our staff room and lunch breaks will be a great deal quieter without her presence See more

06.01.2022 Covid 19 Clinic Policy Until advised otherwise, our Point Clare Hospital and Umina Clinic are open as normal. As per recommendations made by the Department of Health and the Australian Veterinary Association we will be implementing the following policies-... If your pet needs veterinary attention and: - You have been overseas within the last 14 days - You are unwell or experiencing flu like symptoms - You need to self isolate Please phone us for advice and we can make a plan in line with social distancing recommendations. We also ask you to: 1. Limit the number of people presenting with your pet to just one owner. 2. When arriving for your appointment please wait in your car. Phone us upon arrival and we will notify you when we are ready to see your pet. 3. Please phone ahead to order medications, food, worm/flea control so we can arrange to have them ready for collection without the need to wait. 4. If possible we would prefer eftpos transactions rather than cash. These policies are being put into place, not to create anxiety amongst our clients, but to ensure the health and safety of our staff and clientele. Our team will not tolerate any rude or abusive behaviour and any member of public who acts in such a way will be asked to leave. We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. This situation is rapidly evolving and we will provide updates as required.

05.01.2022 Check out the NSW governments latest introduction of annual permits for owners of undesexed cats and dangerous/ restricted dogs. These permits will come into effect from July 1st 2020 with the intention of creating more responsible pet ownership. Head to the link below to see if this affects you

05.01.2022 Hi all! We are experiencing phone and NBN problems and are working hard to resolve the problem ASAP. Thank you for your patience. We can still be reached at Umina Vets on 4341 6659.

05.01.2022 On the eve of Christmas we had Megal coming in for a routine castration procedure. What we didnt know was that Megal was a whooping 70kg! From time to time we do get patients that, rather than butting heads with them, we need to meet them halfway. Megal was definitely a meet halfway patient! This meant his surgical procedure was performed on a comfy bed on the floor. His surgery went well and he had no problems with the general anaesthetic. Megal was then slowly woken from his anaesthetic and once he was able to stand was walked back to his cage. For such a big boy he was a wonderful patient and gave us no trouble
