20.01.2022 These springs work well but you need to adjust them over time so the tension closes the pool gate - Remove the screw - Use a screwdriver to twist the spring and increase the tension - reinsert the screw in another hole so that the screw rests against the hinge ... Simple DIY work will save lots of money for pool owners.

20.01.2022 If your boundary fence is part of your pool barrier you need to make sure the rails don’t form a ladder. If the rails aren’t 900mm apart then you must add an angled wedge on the top and middle rail ( if middle is within 90cm of top )

19.01.2022 The ‘construction date’ of your pool will determine which Standards apply to your safety barrier.

09.01.2022 After registering your pool with Council they will send you a letter confirming the pool or Barrier ‘construction date ‘ This date is used by the Inspector to complete the inspection. If you have installed a new barrier without a permit it may not be reflected in the council assessment. This can cause some issues during the inspection as conflicting Australian Standards may occur. ... So check in with your council and make sure your permit records are up to date. Pool owners are now required to obtain a Certificate of Compliance which they must lodge with their local Council If you have a newer barrier you may opt to obtain an Inspection service to immediately complete this obligation. Once an Inspection occurs legislative timeframes apply to fix the issue so you must be confident your barrier is compliant.
