17.01.2022 Yum! We are in Mango Heaven !!!Mangos are in season now in Bowen. Theres good reason why we have two big mangoes as tourist attractions (one across the road from Port Denison Motor Inn). This one weighed nearly a kilo and was deliciously sweet - meal in itself. A bucket of these beauties we scored for just $10 from a road vendor.

17.01.2022 Theres a rodeo happening this Saturday, right next door to our Motel! Plus theres Live music at the Grand View Hotel afterwards (just a stone throw away). Seaside meets countryside in this world-first event for the whole family. Watch world-class bull riding, bronco riding and barrel races surrounded by the wondrous environment of the Whitsundays region. Feast on delicious smoked barbecued meats and test your own riding skills on the mechanical bull competition. With live... music, food stalls and much, much more, it promises to be a wondrous day out for the family. It is on Saturday January 27, 2018 at the Bowen Foreshore from 5pm to 10.30pm. 05.01.2022 The word is well and truly out Bowens Walk to the Lighthouse on the 11th of August is going to be a fantastic afternoon! Qld Weekender will be attending to film the walk and festivities afterwards. Walk to the Lighthouse 11th August 2018 Details: - We are encouraging walkers to arrive at 2:30pm the optimal time to venture out will be 2.50pm and return by 4.50pm... - Whitsunday Paradise Explorer will be available for those who would like a boat ride over bookings can be made at the point on the day - We highly suggest shoes are worn for the walk rocks, shells and small chance of stonefish we do remind visitors their feet and legs will get a little wet! - From 4:30pm there will be live music, pop up bar, tapas style platters, mango sorbet and coffee van. The event will conclude by 7pm - For the post-walk event, bring a picnic rug / fold out chairs if required. There will be toilet facilities. - After the Walk the Grand View Hotel will be putting on live music with Stylus Crew and the band will be videoing their new songs! This is an 18+ event, but families are still welcome to enjoy dinner at the hotel. - A big part of the Walk to the Lighthouse is the sea life you see along the way we ask people, however, to refrain from touching or picking up any sea creatures we dont want to endanger them, and we want this to be a great experience for years to come.
