25.01.2022 Extract Cairns Post: The master regurgitator. Mr Entsch: Is he helping out his ALP buddies in the news today? Good on you Chris and Adam.

24.01.2022 The same truth about the science and our Cairns Port debacle is entwined. Dr. Ridd is calling out the science that is used to make decisions about issues like BANNING ALL FUTURE CAPITAL WORKS TO OUR SHIPPING CHANNEL! Work to our shipping channel DOES NOT HARM THE REEF. We hope other members of the LNP listen to Senator Scarr and also to Dr Ridd on these issues. Otherwise, our local Liberals should quit and join the Greens!

18.01.2022 Haven't we heard this news before..........in 2016? Take a look at Entsch, he's yesterday's hero... https://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-02-26/hmas-cairns/7202194

18.01.2022 Cairns Post Extract "The former high-flying pub baron has put his money to use since landing a $20 million windfall from the State Government to fill his quarry with mud from the Cairns Shipping Development dredging project."

18.01.2022 Deceit and more deceit: "Friends and colleagues learning of his offending only when the case was reported on the front page of the Cairns post during his trial". That is 21 months after the offending. This article also reveals that a referee for Mr. Vico was also engaged by Ports North to consult on the Cairns Shipping Development Project. Therefore, we may assume that Ports North management and board may have been aware of the offense before the trial in June 2020. Was Mr. Vico at work all this time at Ports North?

16.01.2022 Extract Cairns Post: Dr Peter Ridd in Cairns last Thursday with Senator Malcolm Roberts to drum up support for an Office of Scientific Integrity.

16.01.2022 Extract Cairns Post : A story of deceit.

14.01.2022 Extract Cairns Post part 2 story of deceit.

14.01.2022 ENTSCH says: Reef disaster and then in the fine print: GBRMPA has NOT got 2020 data to emphatically prove. That is exactly what Dr. Ridd is truthfully stating and he is right. Entsch is a total embarrassment to conservative voters and the LNP should get Ridd of him. Then our Cairns Port future may improve.

13.01.2022 ‘Not credible’: Judge finds Cairns exec guilty of backpacker rape A judge has handed down a damning decision against a former top Cairns executive, who earned almost $290,000 a year before being found guilty of the terrifying rape of a backpacker. Vico, who was a general manager at Ports North earning almost $290,000 a year, left his job following the trial.... He has been remanded in custody ahead of his sentencing on Thursday. https://www.cairnspost.com.au//e5773609c24e06b9ae74294992e

11.01.2022 Extract Cairns Post "Defence barrister Tony Kimmins handed up nine references for Vico including his daughter and well known local consultant Pat Flanagan".

04.01.2022 Cairns Post today. $30m investment into marine precinct city faces battle for big navy contract. For many of you who know the history of our port, we should never have lost our mojo (NQEA) to SA, WA or NT Darwin in the first place. The 3 shipbuilders fighting for that work today are playing catchup in terms of desperately needed wharf infrastructure and port land.

04.01.2022 More in today's Cairns Post by Chris Calcino: Increase wharf funding BOSSES of the city’s three slipways have stressed the need for major additional infrastructure spending if Cairns is to realise its potential as a navy maintenance hub.... The $28 million announcement for two new wharves and an extra $2 million for a maritime precinct business case had everyone’s support but the clock was ticking. Norship Marine commercial general manager Colin Ford (right) said the works were an important first step. There is still about $120 million in crucial works awaiting government investment. It’s something where we want to see this built on, and we can see that it has real potential for sustainable jobs in the future, he said. BSE Maritime Solutions managing director Justin Parer is looking at securing a 5000-7000 tonne syncrolift at his Portsmith slipways to bring Cairns on par with Darwin in terms of lifting capabilities. He hoped Cairns would not miss the Department of Defence’s rollout of its massive naval sustainment program, Plan Galileo. I just hope the business case is done within a time frame that allows us to deliver infrastructure for Plan Galileo. I hope it delivers jobs soon rather than into the distant future, he said. Tropical Reef Shipyard general manager Robert Downing said the business case needed to result in swift spending. We look forward to working with the state on the business case for what we anticipate will be significantly more infrastructure to improve capability, and work towards doubling the Cairns workforce, he said. A d v a n c e Cairns executive chairman Nick Trompf said the organisation had been asking for a $40 million first spend, followed up by another $120 million outlay. He said the two-year wharf construction time frame should work for Cairns to receive its first home-ported offshore patrol vessels by 2025 although it remained to be seen what happened with maintenance contracts for ships built sooner. That’s creating all-important jobs for the next two years, Mr Trompf said. In the meantime, the business case will be finished and we will be hunting for more than $100 million in extra works, he said.
