21.01.2022 One not to miss.

20.01.2022 Interesting read below about chine collé - I always found it best to paint the back of a stretched piece of the paper with home made rice glue, let it dry and cut or tear to shape. The glue reactivates when in contact with the soaked printmaking paper. Notes here: https://12dfd9b8-85fd-a9c9-8d3a-061afae0a6bc.filesusr.com/ugd/7bc2d0_de7d68448ea2456f888a5d6036012ec0.pdf

09.01.2022 PRINT EXCHANGE DEADLINE EXTENSION! As Stage 3 and 4 restrictions are currently in place in Victoria, we realise this may be impacting upon some of our members... access their usual printmaking facilities, and ability to submit a print edition for the PCA Print Exchange. 03.01.2022 Don't forget to renew PCA memberships. PAWA has a group one.

02.01.2022 Another new work to join the Overwintering Project Print Portfolio is Pippa Lightfoot’s magical image, ‘Pelican Point’. I find it so very thrilling and humbling... to receive such beautiful prints for the Project. Thank you so much to Pippa and all of you who have joined the #overwinteringproject to help raise awareness for our migratory shorebirds and their - often threatened - habitat. Pippa writes the following about her magical print: Pelican Point is on the Swan River close to the city and bordering the University of WA. There is something primordial about water and it unsettles the senses. The idea of water as a sacred element, synonymous with time and life itselfis a feeling that resonates with me. For most of my life I have lived within walking distance of the Swan River and it is a touchstonea constant source of renewal. It is a theme I constantly return to...a reminder of the power and fragility of the natural world. We take for granted the simple shoreline gifts and the pleasure of observing birdlife in all its quirky richness. Title : Refuge... Medium : Linocut with hand colouring, over screenprint 2020. 285gsm Arches BFK rives. Site : Pelican Point - Swan River, Perth WA.
