19.01.2022 In the media today: Direct Collective chief operating officer Mal Cayley said there were not enough broad hectare developments available to meet current and future housing needs. Mr Cayley said infill development that is, creating higher-density living on existing urban land was the way forward to improve housing affordability. Mal Cayley says the Coast is experiencing a once-in-history property event.... We have no option but to responsibly consider infill development; infill is our only option to meet housing demand for the Sunshine Coast, Mr Cayley warned. Mr Cayley said this could range from knocking down a house to build several duplexes, knocking down several houses to build apartments or building a granny flat or secondary dwelling on a property.

17.01.2022 Back in the media with Direct Collective chief operating officer Mal Cayley interviewed by Sunshine Coast News about recent sale prices in the Golden Triangle of Buddina on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.

10.01.2022 Our expansion across QLD was shared in a story published in the Townsville Bulletin celebrating our newest office for Direct Agents and Direct Rentals - Townsvi...lle in Flinders Street, Townsville. Article snippet: Property Group Direct Collective is gearing up for growth in Townsville with the opening of a new office in the city. The group has opened Direct Rentals in Flinders Street and is establishing a sales business called Direct Agents to operate from the same office. Direct Collective chief operating officer Mal Cayley said they were confident in the growth of Townsville. Mr. Cayley said they could see a resurgence in the city with its diverse economy and role as a provider to the transport and mining sectors driving demand for property services. "If you look at all of our businesses in property-related-services, it makes sense that we are in such a large centre. "We see our presence as a foundation for the long term," Mr Cayley said. Direct Collective is a network of more than 20 businesses including Property Vine Ltd, Investor Property, First Home Buyers Academy, Direct Agents, Direct Hotels and Direct Rentals. The Townsville rental business has rebranded from Queensland Property Rentals, which operated previously at Burdell, and has a large rent roll of homes and apartments in the city and at North Shore. In 2019 Property Vine Ltd, with investment fund Marathon Consolidated and Townsville-based investment manager Menninger Capital, acquired the management and letting rights to five apartment complexes in the city. They are Holborn, Kensington, Islington and Dalgety buildings in the CBD and Riverway Point in Condon. Mr Cayley said the group managed about 2000 properties in Townsville, Mackay, Emerald, the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, and was working to increase that further, including with a large management rights acquisition in southeast Queensland underway at present. #property #queenslandbusiness
