The necessary Bill was tabled in the Senate on September 2nd and is being considered by a committee due to report back on November 4th. If it passes both the Senate and House of Representatives, it should receive Royal Assent before the end of March. This would make it effective from April 1st - a date that will give some wags cause to chuckle. If it does become law the effect of additional member...s on control and investments will need to be carefully considered. Also, due to the Trustee Acts in most States NSW, QLD, VIC, WA and ACT a corporate trustee will be required. Lets see what the committee has to say!

12.01.2022 When the virus first hit we told all our clients the following: 1. Prices wouldnt plunge as there would be fewer buyers in the market but also fewer properties... for sale which creates stability 2. The upper end of the market would see higher falls than the lower end 3. Once restrictions ease buyers will be back An article released by The Sydney Morning Herald indicates that settled sales have fallen by 40 per cent in April, however, the silver lining is that there are now fewer properties on the market and less buyer which has created some level of stability in the national housing market for now. CoreLogic on Friday reported house values in Sydney improved by 0.3 per cent through April while in Melbourne they eased by 0.4 per cent, values were up by 0.3 per cent in both Brisbane and Perth; the only other city to record a fall was Hobart, where they edged down by 0.2 percent. Many of the Real Estate agents that we spoke to have reported a quite last 5 weeks however they have said that since the announcement of easing restrictions they have seen an uplift in inquiries as buyers slowly start to return. 07.01.2022 What is SMSF Compliant Unfortunately not all property qualifies as self managed super compliant, it must be a "single contract" i.e. house and land is 2-parts, one for the land and one for the build. This means to buy house and land you need to buy with a single contract, for an apartment these are all single contracts.... For example some of our referral partners have completed apartments that qualifies as SMSF compliant and you can use your Super to buy. With prices as low as $390,000 you could technically purchase with as little as $190,000 in Super. Another would be a single contract house and land. The builder funds all build costs and you only pay 20% deposit now with balance on settlement. NDIS is also a very popular property type with its incredible returns, add to that the ability to buy it within your Super Fund. 05.01.2022 What Australians are up against when it comes to retirement savings When you retire, youll have to have enough investment income coming in from your assets in super and other accounts, if you have any to make up for your earned income. Youll be able to access your super between the ages of 55 and 60. In order to afford a modest lifestyle, and assuming you already own your own home, a single person would need a minimum of $545,000 in super. A couple would require $640,00...0. With this amount, you could maintain your car, pay for air conditioning, and have some money for holidays. Depending on your lifestyle, you may want to have more than this.
