25.01.2022 Proudly Queensland owned and operated. No prizes for guessing which team we’re backing tonight. #bringithome #smashtheblues

23.01.2022 We’re in the last week of Term 3 and incredibly Queensland Outdoor Education venues have been able to successfully and safely operate for the entire Term. Globally Outdoor Education operators are being decimated. Here’s some context: Northern Hemisphere (especially North American) sites which, unlike Australian sites, make most of their income off Summer camps, have lost their summer of 2020 and face little income for a 20-month period. UK & many European Outdoor Educa...tion operators have been told there will be no camps or excursions before Spring Term (April 2021). Victorian camps won’t realistically see significant bookings before February 2021 at the earliest (a minimum 10-month shutdown). NSW may see limited camps in Term 4 but similarly face a 10-month shutdown scenario. Frankly, the best place in the world to be running Outdoor Education just now is Queensland. We’re saddened by the pressure and abuse being heaped on our Chief Health Officer Jeanette Young. We extend a big thanks to her for the way she’s juggled the health and economic considerations of this pandemic, and the many times she’s expressed confidence in Queensland businesses to operate within their Industry Plans. We wouldn't want to be operating anywhere else. #westandwithjeanette Queensland Health ABC Sunshine Coast Sunshine Coast Daily

23.01.2022 Another testimonial of camp life in a Covid-Safe environment. "We had a truly wonderful camp this year and I felt that the overall experience wasn’t in the slightest hampered by the alterations that had to be made for COVID. Thanks to your whole team for providing a fantastic time for all our students. They all came back buzzing with excitement and stories of their experience."

23.01.2022 Sometimes being a teacher on a school camp can be a tough gig, and little creature comforts make a big difference. When you come to QCCC Mapleton you'll start the day with a free barista-made coffee with high quality and local beans from the Sunshine Coast Coffee Roastery! It's easy too - just fill out your school order form in the evening and your coffee will be bought to you hot for breakfast. A great way to get a busy and exciting day of activities off on the right foot. #qldschoolcamp #schoolcamp #outdooreducation #FreeCoffee #visitsunshinecoast #blackallrange #teacherlife

22.01.2022 This is what the magical mystery walk to our bonfire area (Skyview Arena) looks like on dusk. Winding its way through our rainforest to a bonfire pit set up for your group by our staff, all you need to do is strike a match, roast some marshmallows and enjoy the splendour of the stars in the heavens above you. Still a few vacancies left for 2021 if you’ve left your school camp booking until the last minute. #qldoutdoored #qldschoolcamp

22.01.2022 The mud slide is starting to come together. Rumour is it might be available for next weekend’s Anew Conference!

19.01.2022 We received some great coverage in the Sunday Mail today. Unfortunately Covid-safe capacity limits means all our September school holiday camps are fully booked but there’s still vacancy for Family Program in the Summer.

19.01.2022 Now what’s being started here? Are we on the slippery slope of even more fun?

17.01.2022 We really value our partnership with Fathering Adventures and this is always a great weekend. It generally sells out so get in early and make your booking for next year.

17.01.2022 The new tables for the Triballink Dining Pavilion. We are really looking forward to this gorgeous piece of our property achieving its full potential as life gets back to normal after Covid. Why the round tables? Without closing the loop between abstract knowledge and reality, and without making connections between different ideas and areas of knowledge, true learning cannot occur. A focus on linear, abstract, declarative knowledge alone not only fails to create complex connectivity but damages the mind. Tyson Yunkaporta Doesn’t that sound like the essence of Outdoor and Experiential Education? #sandtalk

17.01.2022 We really like this recent edition to our new courtyard, a bar counter facing the rising sun just a few metres away from Camp Grounds Cafe and the pizza oven. Sure to be a popular spot in the morning.

16.01.2022 Pick the year’s Father & Son Camp by the social distancing in the photo? A great weekend hosting the annual Fathering Adventures SEQ Event with some canoeing on the Maroochy River and lots of other fun. Great job dads, investing in your sons.

15.01.2022 The nature of impending fatherhood is that you are doing something that you’re unqualified to do, and then you become qualified while doing it. John Green A big shout out to all the Dads on Fathers’ Day. Thanks for all you do and the investment in our emerging generation of young women and men.

14.01.2022 We had a visit this week from the Aussie Stingers (Women’s Water Polo) team who are training on the Sunshine Coast in preparation for the Olympics. A fantastic group of athletes who seemed to really enjoy their time at Triballink. We know they will do all of us proud in Tokyo! Visit Sunshine Coast Hinterland

12.01.2022 Loving this really creative way of sharing the fun and excitement of camp for the parents back at home. Wonderful school to work with. :)

12.01.2022 We love getting positive feedback. We had a Men’s Camp over the weekend and we accepted the challenge to keep them well fed and contented!

11.01.2022 A lovely surprise for our cleaners to find this beautiful note left for us in the cabins after stay by Somerset College last week. You're welcome to visit anytime! (Just remember to sign-in for contact tracing purposes)

07.01.2022 Compliance is a state of constant improvement. One of the tasks we were able to get done during shutdown was the replacement of our main electronic switchboard. The old one was also the original one, tucked away in a little room just off the main courtyard, quietly going about its work powering up our site for 35 years. It might be the same age as Kit from Night Rider but this little legend powered us up for well over 1.5million bed nights! We know few, if any, of our guests will know about or notice our new switchboard. However, it gives us capacity to grow and most importantly it’s a significant improvement. An upgrade which helps us operate secure in the knowledge the people we care for have top notch safety and compliance.

05.01.2022 Let's pause and remember all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect our safety, freedom and redemption.

05.01.2022 Welcome to the (postponed) Anew Conference 2020. So glad it's going ahead in 2020. We hope you enjoy the pools and not having to pack jumpers or huddle under the heaters. :) (Photo from 2019 before social distancing was a thing)

04.01.2022 This morning's health direction announcement placing a restriction on gatherings of more than 30 people in residences and outdoor areas for the Sunshine Coast area specifically states "businesses operating under a COVID Safe plan are not affected by the latest restrictions". QCCC Mapleton is operating under the Outdoor Education Industry Plan and has its own Health Management Plan, and directions for the lawful operation of businesses with Covid Safe Plans remains unchanged since the last last announcement on "Restrictions on Businesses, Activities or Undertakings Direction (No. 5) issued by Queensland Health on 15th June. Camps at QCCC Mapleton are still ‘good to go.’

03.01.2022 It's NAIDOC Week which has a purpose to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The best way we can do that is to recognise and show our love for our brothers and sisters at Triballink, partners of ours who enrich our lives and organisation. We are incredibly fortunate to yarn with this mob on a nearly daily basis, hear their stories, learn from their perspectives and share this piece of paradise where we live and work with them. We have learned so much from them, and know there's lots more to come. It's encouraging to see our nation, and particularly younger generations, waking up to the richness and generosity of this continent's original inhabitants. Always was, always will be....

02.01.2022 Queensland Outdoor Education operators have been successfully running hundreds of school camps since the commencement of Term 3. The stance of NSW Health and Education is baffling to us, when our own CMO, Jeanette Young, routinely expresses her confidence in businesses with Industry Plans to do the right thing. Times are really tough for the Outdoor Education Industry in NSW and Victoria right now, and if their State governments continue to prevent their major clientele from booking, maybe they should give the industry some assistance?

02.01.2022 QCCC Mapleton has been able to operate through Term 3 with strict Covid-Safe protocols for both the venue itself and its activities. This meant several normal activities couldn’t be offered until Term 4 so the QCCC Outdoor Education team had to come up with some new options. One of these has been a guided scooter tour of our stunning village of Mapleton by QCCC instructors. During the tour they are given lessons in road and urban safety and taken to several beautiful landmarks around town, including our beautiful views of the Sunshine Coast. Sometimes they get held up by our local ducks too, Mapleton's only cause of traffic jams. Photo Credit: Ian Beaton

02.01.2022 Some progress photos of the expansion to our pool complex. We’ve separated the complex into two distinct zones do it can be used by multiple client groups in a Covid-Safe way. Each group gets two pools to enjoy.

01.01.2022 It’s great seeing the new floodlights on the tennis and beach volleyball courts being used for night time activities. A great new option for all our long-term and new groups.
