If you have come across those claims that it is an offence in South Australia to obstruct or disturb a wedding, a funeral, or any religious service, you may be surprised to learn that this is fact.... It is also an offence to obstruct or disturb anyone trying to get to or leave from any such ceremony or service if it is done in a way that is meant to cause offence and is in some way related to their attendance at the event (Summary Offences Act 1953 (SA) s 7A). The maximum penalty is a fine of $10,000 or imprisonment for 2 years.

21.01.2022 Today we will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. From a population of just 7 million, almost 1 million Australians served in WWII. Nearly 40,000 Australians lost their lives fighting for their country. Today, Australians are being encouraged to share a photo online with the hashtag #OneInAMillion and to remember the men and women who served their country and won a great victory for our country and helped shape who we are today.... One of those who served was John (Pat) Carl Frederick Norris (bottom right) who is the grandfather of one of our staff members. Pat served as a Leading Aircraftman in the RAAF and enlisted on 11 May 1943 and was discharged on 29 March 1946. He served in Townsville and Borneo. The other men pictured in this photo are Col Rainbird, Dave Osborne and Frank Riley. On the back of this photo is a poem to Pats wife which reads: "I may forget your voice with nonchalance and sad regret, all these things I may yet forget, but much too difficult to do, would be forget my love for you" Lest We Forget.
