25.01.2022 Wanting Candidate information? Go to http://rag-candidates.info/ https://youtu.be/6RST86VrdyQ

25.01.2022 Queensland Electoral Commissioner Pat Vidgen joined Crime and Corruption Commission chairman Alan MacSporran and Independent Assessor Kathleen Florian on Wednesday to tell candidates they would be monitoring all aspects of the election.

24.01.2022 The Moreton Bay Western Arterial Corridor I have been told, that the following comment is far too long, so here's the short version: Residents say: we ...need infrastructure before new developments. State Government says: Will do! Council says: We are waiting for State! Council pays State $ 300,000 to hurry up. For nearly two years nothing happens. Residents say: WTF? And this is the long one: For those, who are not familiar with the concept: For many years the State Government has made plans for an East - and a West Moreton Bay Arterial road to carry traffic parallel to the Bruce Hwy. Basic drawings of those roads have been made available in various planning documents. ( see attached image) Parts of the Eastern section have been completed: The Diamond Jubilee arterial road through North Lakes, and that section will be continued soon with a section between Anzac Avenue and Dohles Rocks Road to be completed in the next few years. The section going North from Boundary Road is still to be planned, approved and financed. Planning for the Western section got a boost in 2019, when State Government committed to finance a study for the needed corridor. The time frame proposed was lengthy, so MBRC committed an extra $ 300,000 to expedite matters, in the hope to bring the finalisation forward to Dec 2020. In the meantime, State Government has announced huge population growth targets for an additional 220,000 residents in Moreton Bay Region, most of that in the Western suburbs of Caboolture West, Morayfield, Burpengary and Narangba. Smaller developments also in Joyner and Warner. The urgency for the construction of an alternative route to carry traffic from and to the City and the Sunshine Coast is growing by the day. Recently all three levels of Government have announced a $ 68 million upgrade to the Youngs Road crossing. The question has been put by a member ( Stephen Huxtable): How does this tie in with the Western Arterial corridor? I would expect, that the authorities have the answers, but we are not getting them. In Feb 2020 then Councillor for Div2, Peter Flannery wrote in a letter: "Further to our discussion, I asked for an update from Council’s Manager Integrated Planning and have been advised that the State Government Transport Planning Study - Moreton Bay Western Arterial Corridor Study (MBWAC) which commenced earlier this year has successfully identified a preferred corridor alignment. The original timeline for the identification of the preferred corridor was December 2020. However, Council agreed to invest $300,000 into the study to bring forward this timeline to December 2019. Now that Council is aware of the general alignment of this preferred corridor, a tender has been awarded to a transport planning consultant to identify the future road and transport capacity upgrades within Moreton Bay." and during his Mayoral Campaign he wrote: As this is a State Government project, and if I am elected as mayor, I will request urgent meetings with state members and the minister to propose that TMR stop playing games with this matter, as many residents’ lives are and will be affected, and get on and give certainty to all, and then: This general alignment that they have advised council on is sufficient to allow the council to recommence its strategic road and transport modelling. Meanwhile we have been waiting and have been told to wait for an announcement coming later this year. Council tells us, that most of their future infrastructure planning relies on the results of the TMR study. Am I the only one, who feels that somebody is pulling my leg? I am convinced that all levels of government are aware of the preferred corridor by now, and so will be the major developers, in my opinion. Why is this information kept from us residents?

23.01.2022 STORY IS 12 MONTHS OLD BUT STILL RINGS TRUE !

21.01.2022 RAG is not aligned with any party. We listen to and lobby anyone supportive of cleaning up Local Government and ensuring democratic rights for residents. That said, this is an absolutely cracking speech worth listening to, regardless of your political views or preferences. When it comes to local government corruption this bloke gets it. https://www.youtube.com/watch

20.01.2022 Wouldn't it be great for a change to hear from somewhere that a council actually managed ratepayers money that great that ratepayers actually had a rate reduction !

20.01.2022 Business is booming for the Office of the Independent Assessor (OIA). Moreton Bay Regional Council had 41 investigations and five disciplinary actions dealt with by the OIA. The biggest generator of complaints to the OIA is the CCC, redirecting complaints not serious enough to be considered corruption but too serious to be dealt with by Council alone.

17.01.2022 STUDY SHOWS FLUORIDE HARMS AT 0.2 PPM FAN LAWYER SENDS COPY TO TSCA JUDGE Fluoride Action Network | Bulletin | June 12, 2021 https://fluoridealert.org/conten...t/bulletin_6-12-21/ A landmark study by Grandjean et al. has just been published confirming that very low levels of fluoride exposure during pregnancy impairs the brain development of the child, and at a population level may be causing more damage than lead, mercury, or arsenic. The paper’s authors ultimately concluded that a maternal urine fluoride concentration of 0.2mg/L was enough to lower IQ by 1 point, that even this impact is likely underestimated, and: These findings provide additional evidence that fluoride is a developmental neurotoxicant and the benchmark results should inspire a revision of water-fluoride recommendations aimed at protecting pregnant women and young children. 16.01.2022 Absolute rubbish According to the Palaszczuk Labor budget released this week, the state government will stop reimbursing councils for collecting rubbish. Beyon...d this year councils will be forced to pass on the costs associated with the state governments waste levy effectively putting a tax on every wheelie bin across Queensland. In Metropolitan areas, ratepayers could expect to pay an additional $88. That figure could be in excess of $100 in regional Queensland.

15.01.2022 Well it seems the problem we had a few years back is resurfacing again now. Is your property going to be affected by this? Council is currently calling for community consultation in Beachmere, Toorbul, Bongaree, Woorim, Griffin and Redcliffe. Make your voices heard now or you will get what you get. https://www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/Services/Projects/CHAS

11.01.2022 Article from the Caboolture News in 2012. And Pollies wonder why no one believes a word they say - THE large parcel of land to the right hand side of Bribie Isl...and Road adjacent to the bridge is NOT being developed into a refugee camp, caravan park, nuclear reactor site or nudist colony. In pre-election hysteria whipped up by rumour, innuendo and candidates at state and local government level hoping to put a dent into rivals campaigns, all sorts of stories have been floated for political gain. Division one councillor Gary Parsons, in an effort to allay worries of many of his constituents, said three important points needed to be pointed out to residents. "Number one is that the land is zoned rural so nothing can be built on it - no tavern, no unit blocks or housing," he said. "Next is that the land cannot ever be developed unless there is a change at a state level to their regional planning scheme. "And lastly the state regional plan is not up for renewal for two to three years and the land would then have to be re-zoned from rural to the urban footprint." Cr Parsons said Sandstone Point residents were becoming very upset about the unsubstantiated rumours which had been floating around since new owner Paul Comiskey purchased the land last year. "To set the record straight once and for all, after the new owner bought the land, he had it surveyed and it was found the boundary fence fronting Bribie Island Road was on Transport Department property well out of alignment with its correct positioning," he said. "Then a 10m fire break was constructed and a permit granted to burn off all the radiata slash pine, lantana and other noxious weeds on the site which had been lawfully removed. "The new owner has improved the health of the site, made it secure and helped fireproof it. "Hopefully this news will put paid to persistent rumours worrying neighbours which continue to be circulated from mischievous sources for their own ends." 04.01.2022 Neighbourhood Plans The Mayor's big election promise to fix the town planning of the region was to roll out individualised Neighbourhood Plans for the entire re...gion. Well, that’s going well. Announced in the 21/22 Council budget were the first suburbs to trial Neighbourhood Plans which will be Kallangur and Dakabin. That area will represent less than 0.4% coverage of Development Applications for the region. Both well-established suburbs with minimal development activity. Across one of the fastest-growing regions in the country that’s no fix. #MoretonBayRegion

02.01.2022 Council’s agenda for their first meeting reveals it’s more of the same old same old..... the highly flawed practices of the last 12 years for managing the busin...ess of Council continues The only difference being that the organisation has now clearly outlined just how ridiculous the whole charade of portfolios actually is. What a wasted opportunity to make our Council better. #MoreOfTheSame #MoretonBayRegion
