06.01.2022 PRODUCTIVITY TIP #7 2 M I N U T E R U L E - Basically, if a task will take no more than a few minutes, do it there and then. Try it with your emails....Go through your emails one by one, scan over each email and decide if it can be answered in just a few minutes.... If the answer is NO - Decide how important the email is and FLAG or CATEGORISE it to be done today, tomorrow or later in the week. Then move on to the next email and do the same. If the answer is YES and it can be answered in just a few minutes, then crack on and answer it and get that one out of the way. Then move on to your next email and employ the same process! Soon you will be at your last email, you will have responded to probably half of them already, and you now have either FLAGGED or CATEGORISED your remaining emails into a priority order that you can now work on! 05.01.2022 PRODUCTIVITY TIP #5 T H E M A T R I X - We spoke a few weeks back about making a list right...!? Well not only do lists work really well for keeping sight of everything you need to do, but you can then prioritise the things on that list to make sure you don’t miss that all important deadline or task. One of the most effective ways to prioritise is the Urgent Tasks Matrix, otherwise known as the Eisenhower Decision Matrix (yes after the former US President).... Now you may have seen my Eisenhower quote earlier in the week (if not go check it out). Well he was spot on! How many times have you had to do things urgently because they were forgotten about or not considered urgent until all of a sudden they were, but when you look at them they aren’t really important to you or your business? Well the Urgent Task Matrix helps you prioritise those things that really are important compared to those things that are simply urgent.
