21.01.2022 How amazing are these guys! Tangaroa Blue cleaning up our foreshore in the Douglas shire. It reminds us how intricately our coastlines and currents are connected. Bottle tops, shoes, balloons and irrigation and fishing line all ever present. With two world heritage listed areas side by side, both must thrive to survive. Please tread gently and wisely on your travels Amazing job by these volunteers and orgsnisers. Thank you ... #portdouglasdaintree #Destinationdaintree #ecodestination#ecodestination #cleanupaustralia

21.01.2022 We have been reflecting alot lately at Red Mill House on gratitude. Gratitude for nature, time and meaningful connections. At the centre of our garden stands a grand old (75yrs) Milky Pine Tree, Alstonia scholaris. She is bold in stature (40 metres) and is the heartbeat of our green space. To the local Indigenous she is know as Kor-oo-lah and used for tools, medicine and fish poison. In Theravada Buddhism she is considered a 'tree on enlightenment'. She is native to India, So...uth East-Asia, China and Queensland and prized heavily for her uses both medicinally and for tools. Her uses extend to blackboards and pencils because of her soft timber, hence, scholaris. To us she is simply 'Grandmother tree' and the first beautiful sight we see in the morning and the last before sunset. Home to many and healing to all. Come and have a chat with us, over breakfast under the arms of the old Milky Pine Tree. #seeaustralia #keepitinfnq #vacatetheisolate #openforbusiness #goodtogo #thisisqueensland #HolidayHereThisYear Explore Tropical North Queensland Visit Port Douglas & Daintree Visit Australia Visit Queensland, Australia Australia.com TTNQ Destination Daintree See more

18.01.2022 So who doesn't love a morning snuggle right??? These two love birds have recently pulled up a day perch right next to my car in Newell Beach. Today they enjoyed some early morning spooning in the sunshine and consequently hadn't moved much when I got home at 5pm! ... A weary eyed juvenile in tow, a little more interested in my coming and going. #papuanfrogmouth #birdsofinstagram #birdnerd #daintreerainforest #newellbeach #birdlifeaustralia #birdwatching #birdwatchingholiday #visitportdouglasdaintree

16.01.2022 We are very excited to announce we will re-open our doors on the 30th of June 2020. This is a soft opening and we will release two of our King Tremaine rooms and our 2 bedroom family apartment. There has been a few changes to the way we serve our breakfasts. Grab one of our tasty hampers and enjoy at your room, in the garden or out on one of your adventures. We look forward to welcoming our local clientele back to the Daintree Village and Cape Tribulation.

Recent foodie lovers were treated this amazing spanish omelette.... So what was inside? Spanish cheese, porchetta, spanish sausage, tomato, spinach, caramelized onion, wrapped in a light fluffy omelette and drizzled with hot sauce and served with pan charred sourdough. But if you still love your old style English big brekkie of bacon and eggs, don' worry we do that too! #welovetocook #daintreeaccomodation #daintreefoodies #bedandbreakfastaustralia #omelette #naturebnb #breakfast #daintreevillage #daintreerainforrest @daintreefoodtrail @scomazzon_farming @visitqueensland @portdouglasdaintree
