25.01.2022 An update regarding the last EP sale. For everyone from WA who ordered plants, Our plants will all be in one shipment, and I will notify you as soon as I know when that will be.

25.01.2022 Vrieseas are a great companion plant for Nepenthes. The two enjoy similar Light levels, humidity and low Fertilizer requirements.

25.01.2022 The rocky laterite location of RedRock Nursery is the native habitat of many spectacular sundew species , not to mention orchids, trigger plants and flowers of all colours. Drosera Binata extrema sets a unique style of large trap that opens up vertically, reminiscent of an orb web.

22.01.2022 Mumma Rokko Exotica x Boschiana crossed with Veitchii form the Hose mountains. Hybrids with Veitchii usually look Very Veitchii, then its just a matter of what does the other bring that could improve the lineage ? This is like a custom shop special edition!

22.01.2022 Exotica Plants have used Alata giant in many hybrids recently, with spectacular results. This new hybrid N. Alata giant x Truncata is sure to be another epic monster. Coming soon from RedRock Nursery.

22.01.2022 Something special to look out for in the future, N. Maxima dark x Aristolochioides, pitchers year round, another EP stunner.

22.01.2022 Nepenthes with an emphasis on red.

21.01.2022 A few photos around the bog pond and large bog bowl. Large sarracenia plants, sundews and Venus flytraps breaking out of dormancy. Some pests to watch out for at this time are Aphids, caterpillars and scale and mealy bug. A systemic such as Rose shield/ Rose gun will keep these plants free of sucking pests, but you cant beat our friends the ladybugs, who also appear at this time of the year to keep the pests in check. The second photo shows the flowers of Boronia, this genus of plants love bog ponds/gardens also.

21.01.2022 Complex hybrids usually have a wide range of variability in their offspring, evident in the recent cross N.(Thorellii x Densiflora) x Tiveyi. With this plant, the usual dark patches on a lighter background are reversed, light patches on a dark background.

21.01.2022 For the past 17 years Ive had the great pleasure of bringing Exotica Plantss Nepenthes to plant lovers in WA. If youve ever wondered where these amazing plants come from, its from these two amazing people, Geoff and Andrea Mansell in Queensland.

20.01.2022 Ready...Set...Go! N.Truncata x [( Ventricosa x Sibuyanensis) x (Spectabilis x Northiana)] just opened another restaurant for the bugs.

20.01.2022 Sarracenia, Venus flytraps and Sundews are waking up now, so if you see active growth from your winter dormant Carnivores its time to sit them in water and watch the beauty unfold. These are mostly photos from the bog pond and large bowl I have planted, older leaves are cut back to allow good light and air penetration to the base of plants. We will have a great selection of these amazing plants available soon when the Old Oak Nursery @ 293 Hawtin road Forrestfeild opens in spring.

20.01.2022 N.Veitchii x Burbidgeae is a great Exotica Plants hybrid that we sold about 5-6 years ago. Most of the hybrids we get from Exotica Plants are once only creations, so once we sell the plants we have available of a particular hybrid, we will not have them available again. (Unless we keep a few plants and grow them on and take cuttings, but this is a long process). So, keep this in mind if you see an Exotica plants hybrid for sale.

18.01.2022 Bunnings have recently received some nice EP Truncata hybrids. Ventricosa Red x Truncata And Truncata Red x Ventricosa. Both quick growers which have potential to produce huge colourful pitchers.... I find these, like many Truncata hybrids, prefer temperatures above 10 degrees. See more

18.01.2022 Here’s an EP hybrid we had limited numbers of which sold quickly 1 year ago. No surprise it’s turned out to be a full-on spectacle in the greenhouse, (Sibuyanensis x Burkei) crossed with their infamous Alata giant male plant. It’s sheer size, intense colour and gourd like shape of the pitchers are borne on a surprisingly small plant. I know a few of you were lucky enough to grab one, and I hope it’s growing well. Exotica’s latest Alata giant offering, ... Alata Giant x Truncata are currently available for a short time, you may be lucky enough to pick one up from one of our retailers- The Old Oak Nursery in Forrestfeild, Green Emporium Fremantle, LNJ Gardens in Mt Hawthorn plus a new location opening soon... Wild Seasons florist And Greenhouse gallery in Kalamunda, Zanthorrea Nursery Maida Vale, Hello Houseplant stores in Carousel SC, Joondalup SC and Carillion arcade Perth city, Also selected Bunnings stores through WA. We will also be selling some select plants from this grex in our big Xmas Sale coming up sometime in the next few weeks! See more

17.01.2022 Ventricosa x ( maxima x spectabilis) are starting to look really nice. More of these coming soon.

17.01.2022 Based on current performance, these [(Ventricosa x Sibuyanensis) x Burkei] x Truncata are going to be massive, easily 2ltr plus pitchers on these without a doubt. Hitting stores right now around W A

15.01.2022 Just a few of the awesome Carnivorous plants at the Old Oak nursery. Open today 10-3pm 293 Hawtin road Forrestfeild

15.01.2022 Sarracenia flowers are just as interesting as the insect trapping pitchers. Beautiful pendulous structures with fragrant petals, which conceal a hidden platform where pollinators are rewarded with nectar and hopefully pick up pollen to transfer to the next flower. The last 2 photos are Drosera Adelae and Drosera Filliformis, emerging from dormancy.

15.01.2022 An Exotica Plants classic, N.Gothica was an early hybrid involving their Maxima dark male. The prolific N(Ventricosa x Sibuyanensis) x (Inermis x Bongso) in full production.

15.01.2022 Big or small, a bog pond is the best way to grow every Carnivorous plant, in WA,... except Nepenthes, although as you will see, even they will flourish in this micro environment. Captions with each photo.

15.01.2022 Sarracenia coming out in force, these plants are a real pleasure to grow. Early varieties will be available at the new nursery in Forrestfeild 26th September

14.01.2022 Wow!!! That was insane, all over in 30 minutes for the Exotica Plants update... I grabbed a couple, missed out on a whole bunch... oh well, hope everyone got something nice from the master breeders this time round. If you would like me to include you in a combined WA order, just send me a message.... Lastly, if you scored a Truncata x Veitchii bario (m), this is what they can do!

14.01.2022 Cant get enough of N.[Lowii x Veitchii) x Tiveyi ] x Platychila. Boldly colourful, long pitchers on a superbly balanced plant. EP are doing Mother Nature proud.

13.01.2022 Exotica Plants update is starting at 8pm AEST.

13.01.2022 N.(Ventricosa x Sibuyanensis) x ( Inermis x Bongso) develop lots of pitchers in winter. With deep red midribs and vines contrasting with golden orange pitchers they have a really warm summer type of look about them. A few of these will be available at the grand opening of the Old Oak Nursery in Forrestfeild, weekend of 26th September!

12.01.2022 The N.(Ventricosa x Sibuyanensis) x Hamiguitanensis era has begun. I know, a bit of a mouthful, any ideas for a nickname would be appreciated! Of course, its another EP masterpiece, lots of unique colours and squat pitchers drop from long tendrils. Delivered some to e few Bunnings today, more coming along. Ps. N.Hamiguitanensis is bottom right hand corner of the Nepenthes label.

12.01.2022 Another carnivorous plant we have in production is Drosophyllum Lusitanicum. A large perennial utilising sticky glands on its long thin leaves to snare victims. Beautiful bright cadmium yellow flowers appear in spring. Will let yaall know when we have some for sale

12.01.2022 These lovely warm days are creating magic around the bog pond. Sarracenia and Drosera Binata forms are looking cool, and doing what they do best- catch insects! On the menu today are flying termites.

12.01.2022 The range of variation in N.(Thorellii x Densiflora) x Tiveyi is insane. Lots of them were sold last year, post a photo of yours in the comments if you have one.

11.01.2022 Nepenthes sale this weekend. Australia post is still not reliable enough to send the EP order over, so I decided to have a Facebook sale, starting Friday at 6pm ish. As usual, these will be special plants that have caught my eye recently and I want them to go the wonderful supporters of my page. Same deal as before, each plant has its own photo and price, first to comment SOLD on that photo gets the plant. Good luck! and heres a few photos to get your attention, but these are not for sale.

11.01.2022 Good morning everyone, here’s a few random shots around the bog pond. Looks like our weather is warming up over the next few days, so remember to make sure your plants have plenty of moisture available for them, and if you are adding a layer of shading to your growing areas on hot days, get ready to use it. Enjoy!

11.01.2022 Guess whos back for the opening of the Old Oak nursery? Thats right, the very popular Red Devil... And N.(Ventricosa x Sibuyanensis) x Hamiguitanensis. Two great beginner Nepenthes for anyone wanting an easy first plant!

10.01.2022 Here’s the latest from EP regarding the latest update sale, not long now!

10.01.2022 Its spring in the Northern hemisphere, and the Venus flytraps are coming out of dormancy in their natural habitat, North Carolina USA

08.01.2022 Nepenthes (Rokko-exotica x Boschiana) x {[Rokko x ( Fusca x Spectabilis)] x xTrusmardiensis} x Platychila I love the way Exotica plants use Platychila as the Father in many of their creations, that peristome is spectacular

07.01.2022 We have some great sundews available, including a few forms of Drosera Binata. Binatas have long leaves which unfurl straight up then drop down as new leaves grow, making them ideal for hanging baskets. Great control plants for the fungus gnat.

06.01.2022 WA to get our plants next weekend, depending on freight. Everyone who ordered plants has been informed. Let’s get prepared to give these amazing plants the conditions they deserve to reach their potential.

05.01.2022 Here is one of Exotica Plants hybrids from a few years back....N. Veitchii x Burbidgeae. This plant is growing in the top of an elk horn fern for about 5 years. It’s location is outdoors, under a gumtree that provides dappled light during the hottest part of the day, but let’s sunlight hit the leaves in the morning. Overhead foggers keep the environment humid during hot dry months. This particular plant is getting a kelp based Fertilzer at 1/4 strength every couple months if I remember .

03.01.2022 Hey, only 2 weeks until the grand opening of the Old Oak Nursery @293 Hawtin road Forrestfeild. An incredible array of carnivores and wonderful plants are being prepared for your enjoyment, so if you are thinking of purchasing any, you know our prices, range and quality is unmatched. 03.01.2022 A particularly nice Exotica Plants Ventricosa from 15 years ago. No wonder their plants are so nice, selective breeding for 25 years can do that.

02.01.2022 How cool is this Ventricosa Red from Exotica Plants! I just love the quality of their plants, even the Ventricosa’s and Alata’s are stunning. This cheeky photo is what I’m talking about.
