24.01.2022 Feeling festive yet? Our Hurstville residents are! Last week we held a fabulous garden event with Christmas carols, eggnog, laughter and singing. The afternoon was topped off by a sensational entertainer who everyone adored.

20.01.2022 The winner in the 2020 Initiative or Innovation of the Year award is Regis Elermore Vale. One of the challenges experienced by residents through Covid-19 has been their limited ability to get out and do a bit of shopping or having their loved ones come into the home to bring them shopping items. The team at Elermore Vale could see the impact this was having on the residents and came up with an idea for a shopping trolley that would bring the shops to their home and allow them to select what they would like. This process involved the residents, their families and the team at Elermore Vale and the success speaks for itself the residents have choice and feel a sense of independence and excitement each time the trolley comes around.

20.01.2022 The winner for the 2020 Clinical Care Excellence award is Milan Bhattarai. Milan is a high energy and passionate Registered Nurse who is known for his exceptional communication skills, commitment to safety and always being available to speak with family members in a compassionate and caring manner. 19.01.2022 In 2020 we have missed our Volunteers and it was exceptionally difficult to decide between Doug and Barb. We have decided that this year will see both Doug and Barb jointly win the award for Volunteer of the Year. Doug is one of our highly valued volunteers who visits four of our male residents at Regis Playford. The residents describe Doug as a kind man with a great sense of humour and someone they can talk to about anything. Barb is another of our highly valued volunteers who comes into the home three days a week at Regis Sunraysia. Barb does a different activity each visit and will have residents lining up to join in.

19.01.2022 Getting out into the community and enjoying the things that make us smile is so important to us all. Our Regis Kuluin residents have been doing just that and loved every moment of their fishing trip. These outings are the perfect way to create new memories, build strong bonds, and to simply enjoy unique passions and interests.

17.01.2022 Winifred Robertson celebrated her 105th birthday today with her family here at Regis Dandenong North. Affectionately known as Winnie, she was smiling as soon as she saw her balloons. Residents and staff came together to sing happy birthday to Winnie and give her flowers and birthday cake on this momentous day. When staff asked what her secret was, she said, I really don’t know with a big smile on her face.

16.01.2022 Volunteers play a huge role in our Regis Family and we’re so grateful for all the support they provide our residents, especially this year. Regis Hurstville is lucky enough to be graced by George. He recently gave our residents a tech session on a number of iPads he brought in to teach everyone how to play games and navigate around other apps. Our residents loved this experience and the time spent with George. Thank you for all you do for our residents! Want to join our team of passionate volunteers? 16.01.2022 This week saw a special treat for our residents at Regis Playford. Cheeky, our Lifestyle Coordinator's horse, treated our residents to a much needed visit. Cheeky loves his job as a therapy horse and loves the attention residents give him when they pat, hug and even give him carrots. Cheeky doesn't like apples though... Cheeky is a 22 year-old Few Spot Appaloosa who retired 4 years ago from jumping and dressage. He is loving retirement and loves to visit our home. Our residents look forward to his visits and are looking forward to him returning in December for a Christmas visit where he may perform some steps to a song or two.

14.01.2022 Bird watching has become a hit sensory activity in the gardens of Regis Tiwi. Our residents and staff love getting together to spot the beautiful native birds which can be found all around our Home. Do you know your Mudlark from your Galahs?

14.01.2022 Our Regis Armadale residents enjoyed a lovely morning taking part in Hanukkah arts and crafts, playing music and having discussions with Yavneh College students. It's wonderful to be part of such an incredible community!

13.01.2022 Regis Woodlands have been crafting eco friendly Christmas decorations to bring the Home into the festive season. Residents and staff have been utilising used bottle caps, cardboard, gum nuts and other recycled products to decorate their foyer area. Stunning!

13.01.2022 NAIDOC Week 2020 is an important acknowledgement and celebration of First Nations peoples, who have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years, and are spiritually and culturally connected to this country. At Regis, we provide care and support services across Australia and acknowledge the traditional owners of all of those lands. We have residents, clients, families and employees from many of the First Nations.

11.01.2022 The winner in the 2020 Service Excellence award is Bojan Tanoski. Bojan was instrumental in the recent build and set up of Regis Woodlands very own Street Library. A Food Service Assistant with Regis, Bojan utilised his qualification as a carpenter to support this project. The residents loved being involved in the process and looked forward to each session with Bojan. Congratulations!

10.01.2022 Last week our Maroochydore Home harvested their beetroot crop, the first of their apple cucumbers and mini capsicums and the last few tomatoes for the kitchen. Our residents took a moment to soak in the sun after the afternoon’s harvest bliss!

08.01.2022 The winner in the 2020 Outstanding Dementia Carer award is Nilani Govinna. Family members who have their loved ones cared for by Nilani often share their gratitude for the genuine care she provides. Nilani encourages residents to be involved in the activities they enjoy by actively participating in something with them such as planting and watering flowers, drawing and painting. Always demonstrating care and humour, Nilani is committed to improving care for our residents living with dementia. Congratulations!

06.01.2022 Today, on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, we pause to remember the end of the First World War and over a century of service and sacrifice of two-million Australians. #RemembranceDay

04.01.2022 Do you like to immerse yourself in your garden on the weekends? Spring has truly made an impact on our stunning garden at Regis Dandenong North and our residents have been enjoying the abundance of flowers.
