23.01.2022 PSA: the owner of the property where Campground Boulders is has advised in person that from now on they're not allowing climbing on their property. The owner ci...ted the fact that lots of rubbish had been left over time and that more and more people seemed to be walking further into the property. She also noted they have had 2 break-ins in the past. She said knows it's probably a few people and that there are people who travel from around the world but they have "had enough". The owner left open that in the future they may change their minds. We left thanking her for the opportunity we have all had to climb on her property and that we were obviously disappointed in the decision but understood.

17.01.2022 Well! finally we see the light at the end of the tunnel (could be a train), thank you so much to all my customers who supported me during the restrictions. Although I still have a lot of work at the moment I finally managed to take a break at the long weekend and just breath. I have been working 12 to 14 hour days 7 days a week since the restrictions started and in 2 months I have done more work than I normally do in 2 years. Thank you for your patience as a one man band it w...as impossible to update everyone on the progress of their order but thankfully all orders that qualified left within the stated min 10 business days and even those special orders that were likely to take longer 95% still left within 10 business days. I know first hand that so many of you now have shiny new woodys at home and you want to get the value out of them, or you may be itching to get out to the local crag but please don't forget your local gyms that are now reopening, your woody will still be there for a long time to come and the local crag will always be there (unless PV and other organisations have their way, he whispers, cough cough). these gyms have not had their bills waived, they have had some of them delayed and unless you get in there and pay them for their service they will not survive so grab a friend away from their woody for an evening and get back in to see the faces of those who were there for you before your woody or they may not be there later. However, it real...ly doesn’t do justice to the significant level of community demand and support that currently exists for the rinks proposed for the inner south and north of Adelaide. Not to mention the rock climbing, concerts and other leisure activities that form a significant part of both proposals. All in key Adelaide growth suburbs, which are highly accessible and would benefit greatly from the economic and social inclusion benefits such facilities would bring. While it seems that Marion Council has changed its mind, the Playford Arena is still very much in negotiation and Ice Rinks Adelaide has vowed to continue its search for an alternative site in Adelaide’s inner south. The Playford Arena has attracted major commercial investment as well as State Government financial support and represents a significant opportunity to: * provide security for all our ice sports into the future; * accommodate the fast growing interest in ice hockey; * host major national and international ice sports and rock climbing events events; * bring back sports like speed skating to our state, and; * realise the huge capacity for growth in the recreational side of ice sports. 06.01.2022 Nominations are officially open for this year's Austin Grabkowski Award for Most Improved South Australian Climber. If you know someone who you think is deservi...ng you can nominate them by either posting on on the page's wall or by sending a message to the award page (please don't simply comment on a shared post as this will make it difficult to keep track of nominations). Please share how the person you are nominating has improved this year and submit a photo with your nomination. Please include as much information as possible to help convey improvement. For example last year's competition results compared to this year's, last year's projects completed compared to this year's. Or examples of transitioning into new styles such as leading and trad. Climbers of all ages and all disciplines are eligible, and self nomination is allowed. Nominations will close at 5:00pm on Saturday, November 30 2019. The winner will be decided on by a committee of leaders within the community once nominations are closed. To be eligible the climber must have resided in South Australia for the majority of 2019, special exemptions will be made for South Australian residents who have spent 2019 travelling interstate/abroad on a case by case basis.
