21.01.2022 RCV singers celebrated their last get together for the year by singing outdoors in Parramatta Park! Because of COVID crowd control logistics, we kept it under the radar, but a few lucky picnickers and park goers were treated to Christmas carols sung with pure, heartfelt joy. RCV would like to thank Joanna Savill and Sue Clunie from Parramatta Park & Western Sydney Parklands Trusts for supporting RCV's Carol Pop-Up in the Bowling Green. Want to support RCV's 2021 Welded Voices program? Visit https://australianculturalfund.org.au//rcvs-post-pandemic/ before December 31.

19.01.2022 Thanks Condon Advisory Group for your continuing support of River City Voices as our 'Visionary Foundation Sponsor'. Here's Schon Condon trying his hand at conducting. Only joking, but his love of choral music is no joke. Our #1 supporter. We'll soon be able to rehearse indoors as restrictions gradually ease. Meanwhile, it's lovely in the cloisters when the sun shines

18.01.2022 We are delighted that Condon Advisory Group is continuing to support local cultural businesses, too. As our 'Visionary Foundation Sponsor' their support is helping us employ local artists and produce new work we can share with our community. Look out for our virtual choir video on December 17 www.rivercityvoices.org.au #singing... #rivercityvoices #choirpractice See more

17.01.2022 Very excited to share two music clips with you! The first is RCV's very own soprano Sarah Cherlin who's releasing a new single "Small Machines" . Have a listen on her website : www.sarahcherlin.com The second is Alice Chance's piece Until We Gather Again sung by our friends at Leichhardt Espresso Chorus - a beautiful film full of positive sentiments about life during COVID. Check that out on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i6bfegJN5c&feature=youtu.be

14.01.2022 Meet Nicole, one of our choristers. She loves the magical, almost spiritual experience of singing in a choir and can't wait until it's safe enough to sing together again live, in real time. Nicole is also a donor to RCV. She understands how important it is to help local music thrive in our community of western Sydney. RCV creates opportunities - for singing together, for musicians and conductors to perform and for our community to hear gorgeous live choral music. Help us per...form again by making a tax deductible donation: https://australianculturalfund.org.au//rcvs-post-pandemic/ Help Nicole and the RCV choristers share the joy of singing together LIVE, without headphones GivingTuesday Australia #HumansofRCV

Here's a little behind-the-scenes sneak peak into preparations for RCV's upcoming first album What the World Needs - a wonderful project in association with Parramatta's Information + Cultural Exchange Club Weld program. 11.01.2022 Thrilled to say that RCV has successfully navigated its first 2 weeks of F2F rehearsals! Feedback from our choristers is overwhelmingly positive. COVID-willing all choristers will have a turn singing together before the end of the year. Meanwhile, the editing elves are busy with our singers' videos for the Virtual Recording of Lauridsen's Sure on This Shining Night. Can't wait to share that with you all!

08.01.2022 Thanks to support from Venues Live, RCV is very excited to be holding its rehearsal tonight at Bankwest Stadium! Singer/songwriter Jerrah Patston and musician Sam Worrad from Club Weld will be joining the choir for the first time to rehearse the new choral arrangement of Jerrah's song Rain is Falling, part of the Welded Voices project funded by City of Parramatta Council and developed in association with Parramatta's Information+Cultural Exchange (I.C.E). And we can't wait to... share the sizzle reel and photos taken tonight using the Stadium's unique spaces and backdrop. Woohoo! A special shout out too to the continued support from RCV's Visionary Foundation Sponsor Condon Advisory Group and to all our current and future supporters of RCV's 2021 major event kick-off crowdfunding campaign. 07.01.2022 These smiling faces are of the new, successfully auditioned choristers who joined River City Voices at the beginning of 2020. After 5 live rehearsals together they went to virtual-sing-by-yourself ones. Artistic Director, Sarah Penicka-Smith, Assistant Conductor, Joanna Brooke, General Manager Inara Molinari and Repetiteur, Su Choung have given so generously of their time, energy, expertise and enthusiasm to keep the dream of a western Sydney symphonic choir alive and to sup...port our great choristers. Giving each other support through these difficult times is important. Hanging onto the dream of creating something new and building cultural infrastructure is too. Here's to our choristers, and to singing together again! GivingTuesday Australia

05.01.2022 Today marked the first ever rehearsal of two RCV commissioned choral works composed by Troy Russell (Jimmy's Chant) and Elizabeth Sheppard (Gandangarragal). When notes on a page become living, breathing and at times haunting and sparkling harmonies for the first time, it's a truly memorable experience. Our dedicated choral singers rose to the challenge of COVID restrictions and effectively became soloists, and what a great job they did! Can't wait to hear these works with all our wonderful River City Voices choristers when it's safe to do so! Special thanks to our wonderful composers for so generously sharing their knowledge and talent with us!
