25.01.2022 One hour ago Mavis Staples won a Grammy! I am super happy to have had the opportunity to make that record, but without seeing this post, none of you would ever ...know who produced, mixed, or mastered that record. It is a shame that the technology industry has turned its back on creators to the point where they deny us credit. We have already been denied the ability to make a living thanks to Napster, Spotify, and giant corporations like Google. It is hard to celebrate this award under these circumstances. See more
18.01.2022 Another super productive day in the studio with my music mentor, producer, friend and partner in many musical crimes, Mark "Tinno" Tinson. Not only was it a gre...at day for playing guitar and bass on my new songs, but also Tinno recieved an advance print of his novel "Too Much Rock 'N' Roll - A life in music". The book contains a CD of some of his finest work and will be launched at Lizottes Newcastle on Feb 9. The launch will feature performances by Rabbit, The Heroes, The Raiding Party and so many other friends and artists featured in his book. Tix are available now and books will be on sale soon. 03.01.2022 Adam Plimmer shot and edited this candid video of Rockwells/Redback setting up for Paul McQueen's TV show Songwriters Across Australia early last year. The band at the session is Ronnie, Bobby, Pig, and Face with Chris Turner (guitar) and Greg Plimmer (drums). The audio is edited by Adam from demos of originals Broken Hearted Again, Call My Name, No Excuse and Tears of Blood. Finished versions of these songs will appear on the Rockwells/Redback album which will be released in the next couple of weeks......feel free to enjoy and share.....Ta!
