25.01.2022 Here's a shot of the tap I made to cut this thread. It is incredibly satisfying to use, cuts so cleanly. What tools have you made that bring you joy and satisfaction?

25.01.2022 Theres a lot of work here. Like... A LOT OF WORK! I carved this from a solid I poured. It took ages and was the first and only one I ever made. That being said, Ive literally never made the same ring twice.

24.01.2022 This 22ct Turkish gold ring will knock the socks clean off ya feet! Follow our Patreon page The Jewellers Hub to see how I threw it together. In all seriousness, If you love jewellery either making or as a buyer, you'd be mad not to watch these tutorials. There bloody well shot, informative, educational and cheep. Cheaper than Netflix as don't mess around and get onboard. Build your dreams.

24.01.2022 This ring was made entirely out of left over bits and bobs my customer didn't want anymore. It's a timeless classic.

23.01.2022 The subtle curved sides on this one of a kind natural emerald give this ring a distinctive soft appeal. Stepping the shoulders down is a timeless classic look that I took to the next level with a beautiful open design when viewed from the side. Photography by @zbyzahrah

22.01.2022 Hollow forming rings using the fabrication method is delightfully satisfying. My favourite part is watching the solder flow along the seam. Having the great fortune of learning silversmithing under Wayne Guest at RMIT gave me a fabulous understanding of the importance of heat control that I use everyday whilst making jewellery on a much smaller scale.

21.01.2022 Up there with the coolest matching wedding bands I've ever made. This image also shows the colour difference between Platinum and 750 white gold. Traditionally white gold is rhodium plated, I always suggest that if my clients want white metal, get platinum, if you want grey, get white gold. As in I'm not a huge advocate of plating.

21.01.2022 An all time favourite of mine. I particularly love the claws holding the emerald in. That took some thinking....

21.01.2022 I put so much work into this ring. I carved links right around the under-basket! It was breathingly beautiful and one of the first rings I made using the scope. I literally could not have made this without it. Tools really do make a difference! What's your favourite tool?

20.01.2022 Still one of my all time favourites! Hand made in platinum. Superb yellow diamond. Geometric on geometric, Art Deco on Art deco.

20.01.2022 Lots of sparkle! Every one diamonds, well not everyone but most people.... These cognac diamonds are a bit of a miss match of colours and to be honest it kind of annoys me. Thats probably why it's still in the safe and not on someones finger. I was however a joy to make and I am really happy with how the ring looks, lots of detail and beauty in the cutting. Doing you own setting is not only satisfying but it opens you up to the possibility of experimentation. Don't be afraid of a little experimentation, it gets you places in all aspects of life.

20.01.2022 Texture! This texture was made by holding my course file flat in the vice. The ring was being held firm on my mandrel and rolled along the face of the file quite hard. The teeth were consequently pressed into the surface of the ring leaving this desirable finish. Add this to your skills repertoire.

19.01.2022 Combine all those layers and this is what you get!

19.01.2022 I loved this ring, it was one of the first rings I made a bit chunky. Chunky is not really what I mean, it's remarkably elegant but I used slightly heavier metal thickness. I was thrilled with the outcome. As were they...

19.01.2022 A little something I made in uni. I've always loved incorporating wood into designs.

19.01.2022 The geometric lines of this ring along with having a hollow form meant that I had to piece it together in this manor to achieve the form. The detail was cut last and turned out perfectly. Our clients couldn't have been happier. I actually met Aimee in hospital after I successfully cut through the tendons in my left index finger. Aimee was my occupational therapist and helped me get back to the bench.

19.01.2022 Imagine there's a vertical line separating the left and the right hand side of this image. Now let's play spot the difference. What do you see??

18.01.2022 Over the years photographers and fellow artists have approached me and asked if they could shoot my work and myself. Not only am I incredibly grateful and honoured to be there subject but I am also able to bounce and build dreams and aspirations with like minded people! Thank you to all those who have inspired me!

18.01.2022 This image shows the start of something truly spectacular! Can you guess the ring this finished up as?

17.01.2022 Sometimes its worth going the extra mile with fitted wedding bands. In this instance, nothing less would suffice. I put an incredible amount of work into these rings and I couldnt have been happier with the outcome. Keep practicing and most of all believing in yourself and your ability. You are top-shelf!

17.01.2022 Lots of little fiddly bits here. All in all, I wanted to point out this method of detailing the shank. Using one piece that bridges each shoulder means more to hold onto when cutting the details as well as utilising the tension in the band to hold the detail in place whilst soldering. If thats not enough to convince you to change your ways, your details are also guaranteed to stay flush with each other and parallel. Get on board.

16.01.2022 Never underestimate simple blocky shapes. This design is simple, elegant, strong and powerful all in all stunning. The colour combination and light shoulder design works swimmingly. Love it.

15.01.2022 What's more important, the back or the front of a ring?? It's a difficult question given that the inside of the ring is often just as beautiful. I am obsessed with the look of these hexagons, utter class.

15.01.2022 A handful of heirlooms. Photography @zbyzahrah

14.01.2022 Isn't fire amazing? The hidden beauty of tool making.

12.01.2022 A delicious stack of customised wedding bands.

12.01.2022 She's a bit of a handful! So many wonderful pieces in one place! Big thanks to everyone who let me borrow their rings for this shoot! We got heaps of beautiful content and we couldn't be happier. In seven years of High St Northcote I had over 1000 fabulous clients and only two twits. That's a bloody fabulous average. 99.98 WOW.

12.01.2022 Sharp photography, sharp gravers! perfect combination.

11.01.2022 Depth of field, bloody important! I love the wood in focus here, really emphasis the rose gold. Thanks Zahrah!!

11.01.2022 This shot is to try and prove to you that I am cool, really hip and am worthy of my moustache. It is also worth noting that the adjustable square/ protractor changed my life. Seriously, if you are a maker who loves geometric, accurate lines, get one.

11.01.2022 This is the back of the ring, almost more beautiful than the front... Actually, which side do you like more?

10.01.2022 There's a lot of work here. Like... A LOT OF WORK! I carved this from a solid I poured. It took ages and was the first and only one I ever made. That being said, I've literally never made the same ring twice.

08.01.2022 This photo was taken on a Chocolate tin lid!!!! So good! I truely love this ring and the couple were delightful! I still have the bird photo they took and framed for me! Thank you guys! X

07.01.2022 The details of this ring are tremendously puzzling to one's eye. Alas, that makes it all the more alluring...

07.01.2022 I love it when I am able to design freely with no guidelines! I'm a huge fan of Pt and 750 rose gold. The ruby and the diamonds help a bit I guess....

07.01.2022 French set progress shot. If you want to see the tutorial on french claw set wedding bands, head to out other page "The Jewellers Hub". If you don't that's ok as well. Have a great day.

06.01.2022 It was the customers idea to have that 750 rose gold feature. And what a result. His idea made his proposal and ring just that little bit more beautiful.

05.01.2022 Small diamonds don't mean small ring necessarily. Look at the volume and beauty achieved here with a 20pt centre stone and a stunning design! Another of my all time favourites.

05.01.2022 This emerald took my breath away when I saw it. I knew I had to make something special and I achieved that I believe. It was the first time I built shoulders without supports. I am so proud of this subtle yet rocking look!

05.01.2022 I never got to make this ring. It had a 3ct emerald cut diamond centre stone and trapezoid shaped diamonds stepping down the shoulders. Please get in touch if you're after a ring of this magnitude. I'd kill to have the opportunity to make this puppy. Tell all your friends, let's make this happen.

05.01.2022 Watch Terry Cockrem at Rose and Crown Jewellers bring this magic Art Deco ring to life. This production is by Leigh Young and Blaire Dobiecki at River Card Films. Music by Ben Edgar and Charlotte Jacke.

04.01.2022 Gosh this ring was delicious. I broke down the making process recently on @thejewellershub via @patreon. It includes a fun little claw trick too.

04.01.2022 5 of my finest works! Which one would you choose?

03.01.2022 This gents ring was tricky for me to make. I had become so accustomed to fabrication that making this from a cast billet daunted me somewhat. I carved the negative carefully into a charcoal block and poured away. I then proceeded to work harden the ring by forging it into its true form. The diamond and gold came from his late wife's engagement ring so it was a huge honour to get the ring on his finger. He was delighted and a truly knowledgeable business man who gave me fabulous advice and mentoring. I've been so fortunate to have had such fantastic customers! They have all been just great.

02.01.2022 Chocolate diamonds are truly magical! along with being easier on the pocket! Win, Win. Consider them when choosing your next ring. Photography by @zbyzahrah

01.01.2022 Here's the ring I designed and made for our beloved stop motion. I came up with this design because it was the only thing I could think of that would look cool coming together. Just as well, It looks cool as a ring as well.

01.01.2022 Pristine photography is paramount when it comes to expressing and presenting your work!
