20.01.2022 With great pleasure we would like to announce that Branch President John Hirt was awarded the prestigious Dr. Hugh Martin Medal, in recognition of his 54 years of commitment to Field & Game. This award was announced by Field & Game Australia Chairman Peter Hawker at the recent Association annual general meeting. The award citation read: "For an outstanding 54 year commitment to the ideals, principals and aims of Field and Game and in recognition of his work in the education o...f juniors in firearm safety and sustainable ethical hunting. Also for exemplary leadership and drive furthering the goals of the Association and his Branch over all three pillars of Field and Game - conservation, hunting and target shooting." The Sale Branch was also awarded the coveted Blue Wing trophy in recognition of our ongoing conservation work.

14.01.2022 The Coalition Against Duck Shooting is again running a campaign against duck hunting in Victoria. Last week in state parliament I asked Labor's Agriculture Min...ister, Jaclyn Symes to support responsible duck hunters, stand up for shooters and call out this misinformation campaign - frustratingly all I got in return was fence sitting. Recreational shooters in Gippsland are responsible with many actively involved conservation and habitat protection activities for decades. Our local Field and Game branches have been impressively rebuilding wetlands, erecting nesting boxes and undertaking Landcare activities to enhance our water fowl numbers and our local environment so they can continue their passion for harvesting their own food. Heart Morass, near Sale has been transformed from a wasteland into a thriving wetland through the dedication of our local recreational hunters. It is imperative the Andrews Labor Government support them and call out the latest misinformation campaign orchestrated. Limited to 120 competitors.... To nominate simply call Pud 0427432540. He will require name, membership number and phone number. Squad number and start time will be advised when you call. Please arrive at the range 15 minutes prior to your allocated start time, pay the money, collect your scorecard, shoot 50 targets then depart the range as soon as practicable. Due to current Covid restrictions, in the event of a tied score, results will be decided by countback. Results will be posted on MCMS and the branch Facebook page. Arrangements will be made for prizes. A limited canteen will be available and our skeet range will be operating

03.01.2022 Our Christmas Shoot will be held on Sunday the 20th of December. We will be operating as normal with nominations taken on the day and a full canteen. Prizes will be hams for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all grades and categories, as well as 1st in all grades and categories for the 5 stand. Following the presentations we will be drawing the Monster Christmas Raffle and you can expect a fantastic range of prizes. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions we will not be able to offer a dinner this year.
