12.01.2022 Great news! We will be opening for restricted training and playing opportunities starting on Wednesday night! As previously mentioned, we aren't ready to bring our games and social league back until July 10 (unless it gets brought forward) but we are opening for hour long time slots on some nights and training with Matt Grinlaubs on a Thursday night. The online booking system is below: Please note that time slots will be closely monitored and entry to and departure from the... venue will also be tightly monitored. If you don't book in and get your confirmation, unfortunately you can't just show up. Stage 2 is - Get in, train, get out. In light of this, we ask that you prepare yourselves for the following: - No high fives, hugs, cuddles or sand tackles - Please come ready to play and train and the change rooms are off limits. (toilets still available) - The balls will be switched out and sanitised every time slot - Hand Sanitiser will be at the front gate, the paying station and available throughout the venue. - Additional signage will help with the new 'normal' - Only paying participants will be allowed to enter the venue. - Bar is closed, sorry! 08.01.2022 SANDSTORM CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: it is with much sadness that we give you notice that we will be closed until further notice. Although we have taken every precaution in defence of the Coronavirus, it is clear that in order to flatten the curve it takes all of us to contribute to this. The recommendations of Volleyball Australia, Queensland Volleyball and the state and federal government are that while we meet the requirement of space, we do not meet the criteria of n...on essential meetings as well as the impact of touching a shared volleyball each rally. We are saddened mostly by the fact that we understand that volleyball is a fantastic outlet for everyone. It is a community organisation with a great family feel that allows each of us to have a physical outlet. We want to say thank you for the time and commitment you have put into participating in Sandstorm over the past 5 years and appreciate the feel and culture we have all developed. Recently, I got to attend the AJBVC at Coolangatta where I got to cheer and watch the performance of many of the juniors that compete at our venue. What a joy that was! I realise that for some, our closure will have a massive impact on wellbeing. Our aim is to be there when it's time to come back. In the meantime - if you need a volleyball for your home - please reach out and let us know, we can assist. If you are looking for ways to improve your volleyball in the quiet of your own home -keep an eye out too, we will be creating some opportunities for that!
