25.01.2022 SA Unions is standing together with SA Power Workers against the attempts by #SAPowerNetworks and #Enerven to raid their wages, conditions and job security. Our new Secretary Dale Beasley spoke with SA Power Workers this morning, head to their FB page and website to find out how you can show your support: https://www.sapowerworkers.com.au/ #EmpoweringSA #ausunions #saunions

24.01.2022 Terrific victory!

24.01.2022 United Workers Union is collecting donations for Robert Langella's family. They are raising money on behalf of the workers at the site (Ingham's Burton). Please consider contributing.

23.01.2022 Remember the last time you were doing maths, maybe your household budget or your weekly shopping, and you forgot to add 250,000? Nope, us neither. But that's how many people are missing from the government's unemployment figures, according to the ABS. These people are locked out due to lack of access to affordable childcare or are being discouraged from looking for work by the lack of jobs. The government needs to grapple with the real figures and implement real plans to address them. More here: https://www.actu.org.au//abs-figures-on-potential-workers-

21.01.2022 Picketers at the South Australian West End Brewery aim to win fair redundancy for all workers who will be left jobless after Lion announced the site closure. Holding a flag from the successful CUB dispute is a declaration these workers will fight for what is right. #unitedworkersunion

20.01.2022 Unfortunately South Australia has again achieved the unenviable record of having the highest unemployment in the country. Unemployment rose in South Australia but fell everywhere else in the nation. Minister for Unemployment David "Pollyanna" Pisoni apparently said "today's ABS figures confirmed that South Australia had emerged from the pandemic stronger than ever". What they actually confirm is that the State least affected by Covid is incapable of creating enough jobs for those who need work.

17.01.2022 STRONGER TOGETHER - Today HSU RDNS members braved the cold and rain to strike for fair pay! SA Unions Secretary Dale Beasley and Tammy Franks Greens MLC stood in solidarity with these frontline workers in opposition to RDNS's proposed wage freeze. Essential workers deserve a fair pay rise that values the work that they do and keeps them from drowning under the cost of living.... If you're not a member, now is the time to join: https://hsusant.org.au/join/

15.01.2022 Protest Profiteering, support low paid workers and rally together at Harvey Norman Marion (Harvey Norman (826 Marion Road, Marion) at 12pm on the 28th of May Unions are demanding the Fair Work Commission lift the wages of the lowest paid workers by 3.5% which will boost $19.84 hourly rate to $20.53 per hour. Meanwhile Harvey Norman are publicly supporting and financing the National Retailers Association's submission to "delay any increase to the minimum wage till November 2021" #PayTheWorkers

11.01.2022 New IR laws attack the lowest paid essential workers who sacrificed so much to get us through the pandemic. You don't heal the economy by hurting workers. #ForTheWorkers #ausunions

11.01.2022 The Morrison Government is failing workers and failing our community's most vulnerable. Two thirds of aged care workers nationally are unvaccinated despite the Morrison Government promising that all aged care workers would be vaccinated by March. It's time to get it done!

10.01.2022 Happy NAIDOC Week The theme for NAIDOC 2021 is Heal Country! NAIDOC 2021 invites all Australians to embrace First Nations people's cultural knowledge and understanding of Country as part of our shared national heritage. It's important to recognise, respect and protect all aspects of culture and heritage.... When First Nations people speak of Country, they speak about an entity that sustains our lives in every aspect - spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, and culturally. Check out the calendar of events in SA to see how you can get involved: https://www.dpc.sa.gov.au///naidoc-week/naidoc-week-events The 2021 National NAIDOC Poster, ‘Care for Country’ was designed by Gubbi Gubbi artist Maggie-Jean Douglas. #naidoc2021

09.01.2022 High Court flushes ABCC.

07.01.2022 Unionists dropped in on Covid profiteers Harvey Norman and demanded they stop opposing a wage rise for low paid workers. Our message? #PayTheWorkers

06.01.2022 Get on down to the Brewery today and back the workers striking for decent redundancy arrangements!

06.01.2022 SAFETY FIRST - Under (deserved) pressure for bungling the COVID vaccine roll out, the Federal Government is scrambling for ideas, now looking to businesses to administer vaccinations in workplaces much like existing flu jab schemes. While Josh Frydenberg talks to business representatives about the plan today, he needs to also take the advice of the health professionals. COVID is not the flu, and worker safety needs to come first! https://indaily.com.au//workplace-jabs-considered-for-wid/

05.01.2022 *NEW LEADERSHIP* Welcome to our new Secretary Dale Beasley! Dale succeeds outgoing Secretary Angas Story, who retired from the role this week. With a background in hospitality, and later a union campaigner representing hospo workers, early childhood educators, scientists, engineers and aviation workers, Dale brings a breadth of experience to our movement of working South Australians.

05.01.2022 Good interview Natasha. #saveSAservices

03.01.2022 Don't let Morrison attack the workers who carried us through the pandemic.
