24.01.2022 Looks like the thermostat got stuck, built pressure and popped its gasket. Car boiled, we stopped, refilled the water, boiled again within minutes. Pulled the thermostat out and have been happily cruising at 110 for a while now. There’s a water pump and thermostat waiting for us at Bunbury Repco. Thanks to Millie and Aaron of 4-Schizzle - Shitbox Rally 2019 Autumn for helping out and very generously offering to do the Bunbury run if we were unable!... The servo coffee tour continues...

15.01.2022 Today we bought a new water pump and thermostat. We fitted the thermostat but will hang onto the pump for a spare. As the car hasn’t overheated since removing the old thermostat we think that must have been the problem. After sorting that out, my younger brother took us out for lunch with my mother and then in to Fremantle for some touristing. Saw a few other shitbox cars around Fremantle doing the same!... Tomorrow we go to Rottnest Island, back in time to go to the briefing in town.

12.01.2022 Hey guys, thanks for liking the new page, hope you don't get oversaturated with *Box Rally posts! ShitBox Rally 2019 is the 10th time it has been run, and to celebrate they've made it bigger than ever! We'll be driving a shitbox from Perth to Sydney, via Uluru, after raising at least $5000 for Cancer Council. Many of you will be familiar with the UCC, the 1979 VB Commodore we did Mystery Box Rally 2017 in and are soon to do MBR 2018 in. AT this stage we're still tossing up we...hter to drive it to Perth to do SBR, or buy s shitbox in Perth a day or two before the start and hope for the best! I guess MBR 2018, departing Mildura on October 20 will help us decide. Meanwhile, please donate if you can, come to some of our events, and spread the word to help us raise money to help find a cure for cancer!

06.01.2022 Did you see the Home and Away episodes this week about an outback rally? If you did, it was based on Shitbox and Mystery Box Rally! Actual real life charity ...rallies. We have just completed our 10th Australian rally travelling from Perth to Sydney via Uluru, raising over $2.6 million for Cancer Research. $19.2 MILLION OVERALL! Rather than a few people, Shitbox Rally has 550 people that take part in 275 vehicles. You don't need to be mechanically minded to be a part of it and it comes with all the drama and fun, highs and lows, laughs and tears that you would find on an Australian soapie! Here is a snippet of the main video from our latest rally which is due to come out in the coming weeks. 03.01.2022 Kalgoorlie is bigger than we thought! Today was a pretty slow drive, all on bitumen, with tempers flaring and people getting a bit snappy. Hopefully the less sure drivers can gain some confidence before we hit the shit roads! There was a big truck.
