19.01.2022 As mentioned in the past the School Sport Australia office likes to be aware of up and coming sports. Here is one that you maybe interested in coming out of School Sport NT - Canoe Basketball. The students are placed into teams with either 2 or 3 students per canoe with the teacher / umpire in a single canoe. The teacher throws up the ball, the kids paddle to get the ball and then have 5 seconds to throw it to a team member in another canoe. To get a goal the ball is thrown back to the teacher who is moving around the area. It has to come direct to the teacher they are not to paddle or reach for the ball. It sounds like a lot of fun.
