02.01.2022 CRICKET VICTORIA WEEKLY COVID-19 UPDATE #12 (Nov 23) Congratulations to volunteers across the RDCA in working through the COVID protocols so far. Thank you also... to umpires who have been wearing masks to date - especially in the hot / humid conditions yesterday. As we heard yesterday, DHHS have made a change to this for outdoors as noted below - which is a great result. IMMEDIATE TRAINING & MATCH DAY CHANGES POSSIBLE NOW a/ Masks at training & match day are now only required at cricket as follows: ON-FIELD - have available in your pocket for when required indoors (players & umpires) OFF-FIELD - required for those 12 & over when indoors and when you are not keeping a 1.Sm distance to others (e.g. batting team sitting in very close proximity to each other - such as a coaches box) Patron caps per 'venue' is now set at 500 (excluding players, officials)- with the State Government yet to confirm an exact 'venue' definition (e.g. per ground or full facility that may include other sports). Everyone still needs to maintain a 1.5m distance, where a mask indoors, maintain hygiene, stick to indoor density limit etc. MATCH & TRAINING HOSPITALITY LIMITS (SOCIAL SPACE) Clubs with social areas less than 200sqm can have up to 50 seated patrons indoors based on 1 person / 2m2. This would apply to seated functions. Clubs with larger social spaces (200 sqm+) need to stick with the 1 person/ 4m2. Density signage for each space remains critical. TRAINING GROUP SIZES Clubs have flexibility to train all players (up to 50) together in the same area of the ground at the same time OR keep training with teams fully separated before, during & after training (which greatly reduces the amount of people who may need to isolate should a positive COVID-19 case take place). Strict separation would need to have been in place to satisfy DHHS requirements for not requiring other training groups to isolate- albeit that DHHS may take a strong conservative approach anyway. CLUB/TEAM MEETINGS Can be held on site subject to the density limits, social distancing etc. INDOOR FACILITIES Are open for training & indoor matches. Check with the centre re: density/ booking processes. CV RESOURCES AND FAQ'S Considering the recent changes from the State Government, several CV documents are being updated. Most have already been uploaded on to the CV website - others over coming days. These include: Editable COVID-19 Plan, match day plans, separate training guide, 1-page roadmap Documents in other languages - Hindi, Urdu, Sinhalese, Bengali, Pashto (update completed asap) Various FAQs - including a new one of what to do should a positive case arise at the club. Some FAQs are being removed as they related to earlier stages of the State Government road to re-opening N.B.: Clubs may choose to maintain their existing COVID-19 Plans or use the updated CV guide when released in coming days. Some elements of earlier versions are now updated with the new changes, so the CV recommendation would be to use the new guide 8. resources when released in coming days. KEY REMINDERS Sanitiser for all players, umpires, scorers etc shall take place before and after each innings and at each scheduled break (max 20 overs). Drinks breaks should ideally be on field to reduce time taken Bowlers to place their own cap / jumper at designated place (not hand to teammates/ umpire) No communal afternoon teas I drinks - but plans need to be in place to ensure umpires are provided drinks at drinks breaks - ideally via their own supplied drink bottle QR codes are still required to be used Rooms & canteens can be opened (subject to council approval & density rule followed) Councils, SRV & other authorities will continue to do spot checks of facilities to ensure compliance Go Cricket ! Michael Finn - RDCA President
