With so many people being stuck between four walls for days/weeks/months on end I can see that there will be a great need for relief once everyone is set free. Dont forget you can dream a little smaller this year and take in some of our beautiful domestic destinations for a break after the borders re-open. 23.01.2022 WHY YOU SHOULD USE A TRAVEL CONSULTANT: Yesterday afternoon, our time, one of my colleagues received a call from a stranded Flybe passenger who was in the check-in line when it was announced Flybe was going into receivership and no flights would be leaving - YIKES right?? With a travel consultant her travel issues were solved with one phone call, no line-ups at the service desk, no angst and far less stress. As the flights were all ticketed correctly on one ticket the airlines worked with my colleague to have her customer on the next available flights home at NO COST! https://www.bbc.com/news/business-51746564

21.01.2022 As I have said check online if you like but a real person really cares and the few extra dollars we ask for to manage your booking is minimal in comparison to the alternative! Posted by a fellow travel consultant recently: Little story for today on why it's better to book with a travel agent like myself rather then an OTA (online travel agent like Webjet, anyone you find on skyscanner etc etc).... . Coronavirus: Travel plans have been put into disarray for many people, uncertainty, stress and added costs. . Scenario 1: I have clients that were booked to disembark from a big cruise in China in May. Now May is a long way away for airlines changing flights but cruiselines need to sort their port schedules out well in advance. The cruiseline has changed the itinerary to no longer visit China and will now finish in Japan. But......the 3560 passengers that had flights home from China now need flights home from Tokyo. . Most airlines currently have policies in place to waive change fees up until the end of Feb (my clients aren't traveling until May). But flights need to be booked now while there is availability and before the other 3558 passengers book the most preferred flights. Because my client booked with me and I'm easily accessible with a call, email, FB message or face to face I was able to obtain an authority from an airline that I have built relationships with over the years, to rebook their flights with the change fee waived. . Zero stress to the clients and they are free to look forward to their holiday. . Scenario 2: I have clients booked on a similar cruise who decided to save a few dollars and book on an OTA (online ). . They have found it impossible to contact that particular company via phone, they are not getting replies to their emails, a recorded message says to change flights you need to go online and when they try to do that there's all the airline and OTA fees with no human contact to get them waived! As much as I'm feeling for them there's no way for me to take over the flight booking. . There's a moral to this story......when the shit hits that fan (or in this case snot and high fevers)......I bet you wish you had of booked with a travel agent who cares! See more

15.01.2022 People often ask me or make comment about travel consultants being more expensive than the internet, these last few weeks I think we have proven our worth as we have: cared about our customers and their travel spent countless hours on the phone to airlines, tour companies, cruise lines and other suppliers saving our customers valuable time and money kept abreast of the constantly changing environment and the changes this has caused to travel restrictions, flight changes.../cancellations, country entry requirements and more to hopefully head off any issues for our customers assisted with the processing of insurance claims interpreted the fine print provider reassurance and the voice of reason as required saved our customers time and money without any additional fees provided a friendly face or voice in times of need We need to keep a roof over our heads and pay the bills too thats why we might sometimes have a management fee or need to charge a little more than the internet because in the end we care and will be there! Wheres the internet when you are stuck at an airport or denied boarding due to changes in entry requirements?? #hugatravelagent #travel #travelherethisyear
