21.01.2022 Second interstate COVID trip to assist our clients and definitely a LOT more interest on this trip, especially given the whole "dirty Victorian" thing. So for those wondering, now when you travel, you get screened with questions and your temprature checked even before you go through security in Melb, then again when you land AND health screening questions by a Dept of Health worker in NSW. Interestingly though, the questions in Melb and Syd are different. Thankfully though the Dept of Health worker quickly organised an exemption for us being an "essential worker" and works continued

20.01.2022 Sometimes it's nice to be onsite - double rainbow for the win

19.01.2022 With all the negative news lately, lets change it up and have a cute picture of a seal sun baking on the bulbous bow. Apparently he's a regular at Port Botany and been around for 5-6 years they say #seal #animalcuteness #portbotany #nsw

19.01.2022 Thank you to Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria for the last little bit, it's definitely been cool going to work seeing these little guys most days you're at the Cranbourne site. Not to mention learning things about plants you never knew and of course checking out the equipment like an amphibious weed harvester #wallabies #gardens #beautiful #checkitout #nature

18.01.2022 For those living the Stage 4 life, in case you haven't seen it, there's been some tweaks to the "permitted work premises" tables, see below link #stage4 #victoria #vic #permittedworker #lockdown

15.01.2022 On behalf of our team, some of whom have been and/or are planned to go to Gippsland...what an effort!! Well done to the countless people behind the scenes bringing everyone and everything together; as well as of course the frontline volunteers from CFA, SES, Red Cross, St John Ambulance and Wildlife Rescue amongst others . Don't forget as well, just like us please make your donations through the proper channels (i.e. Bendigo Bank) vic.gov.au/bushfireappeal and more importantly, start planning your holidays down to Gippsland for once the fires are out; lets help give those economies a kick start once they're back up and running

14.01.2022 COVID-19 Trip #3 It's no understatement to say the border entry requirements are TIGHT, especially on this job, since there are multiple "dirty Victorians" and NSW team members with exemption requirements being strictly enforced and validated. So normally, who wouldn't be all up for a trip to QLD from VIC at the end of winter, especially when your hotel is directly across from the beach, but alas it's all a tease for the first 14 days, as hotel or work - THAT'S IT! ... Workers on this project have even been set up with a separate entrance onsite and logging of everyone onsite etc, so we don't mingle with the QLD workers and/or the rest of the site; definitely interesting times. The picture below, that is the before picture, as that skyline of STS Cranes won't be the same after the team are finished in about a month...go team! #QLD #CraneDismantle #STSCrane #highrisk #covid19 #stage4 #covidsafeplan

14.01.2022 For those who are wondering what it takes to dismantle a 760t Ship-to-Shore (STS) Crane, here’s a quick pic from site on Friday, whilst the last of the prep work takes place before lifting commences on Monday. So, what was onsite being built or marshalled included: - Boom Logistics team building a 500t crane, by using a 130t crane and Frannalike a babushka of cranes (with a 250t due to arrive next week) - Darling Downs Metals excavator mounted hydraulic shear, which will be ...used to cut the large sections into smaller road legal pieces, before being transported offsite for processing/recycling. - Coates Hire provided a couple of EWP’s, with a 41m and 36m reach, as whilst the good old days of climbing up the frames with a bit of rope were spectacular these days we obviously do it a smidgen different. Lastly for the astute observers, in the background you’ll see the DP World Port of Brisbane Automatic Stacking Cranes (ASC) and Shuttles and just on the shoulder of the photo was the CMA CGM Loire being pushed into position.

11.01.2022 After making a few of these safety snippet videos and discussing them with the family, it highlighted a good point...do other people understand what you're saying?

10.01.2022 This is an extremely common conversation I've had at many many workplaces, hopefully this little snippet can help you explain to your team...same example also works if you're in customer service "the next customer that walks through the door" etc

08.01.2022 If you've never seen it before, here's a cool time-lapse video on dismantling a vessel

07.01.2022 For our Metro Melbourne clients, if you haven't found a distance calculator yet, see below link to The Age article and calculator

02.01.2022 Construction Sector Update In consultation with Master Builders Association of Victoria there's been updates to the Construction sectors Stage 4 restrictions; including "specialist contractors" and "safety services". So in line with that, we can continue offering COVID audits for the construction sector. If you require these and/or would like to add this to your COVID safe plan; especially if you're on a "high risk plan" let us know. #COVID19 #Stage4 #MBAV #Audits #HighRisk #COVIDSafePlan #Construction #Melbourne
