20.01.2022 TVT Update 10th November Upgrade works are commencing today between Bridge 1 and Elevated Platform 104 (which is between Thredbo Resort and Rangers Station). There will be a detour available to bypass the work zone, allowing riding from Thredbo to Bullocks Flat, however the detour does include some steep and rocky sections. So unfortunately the detour is not as green/easy/family friendly as the TVT is supposed to be through here, so please keep that in mind before attemptin...g. A reminder that the following areas will remain closed until Saturday 19 December 2020 for upgrade works that are planned to increase the sustainability, safety and durability of the track: Thredbo Valley track between Bullocks Flat and Gaden Trout Hatchery Bullocks Hut precinct There is no public access to Skitube Carpark D, Bullocks Hut and Lower Thredbo Valley track for the duration of the works. Detours and guidance signage will be in place from Thredbo Valley track, Muzzlewood track and Bullocks walking track to and from Skitube Carpark C, and onto Lake Crackenback Resort. Keep checking the alerts page on the NPWS website as there are other closures throughout the upcoming riding season. They have been eyeing off this championship since earlier in there year, before it was cancelled. 02.01.2022 Legend Australian skier Steve Lee suffered a stroke on Sunday at home in Falls Creek and is currently in Royal Melbourne hospital. If you have ever met Steve you will know he is champion bloke, and is a champion skier who represented Australia on the world cup circuit and at Olympic games. He flew our aussie snow flag internationally for years. If you have ever seen him free ski you will know why he is regarded as one of the best skiers Australia has ever produced. In recent ...years he has run his own tour guiding in Hakuba Japan and at his beloved Falls Creek where he grew up.. We wish Steve all the best in his recovery and our best to all his family.
