20.01.2022 CITY of GEELONG - COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE GRANTS This grant aims to support funding for the planning and delivery of capital works projects within the City of Greater Geelong Community Infrastructure includes open spaces, recreation and sports facilities, arts and cultural facilities, community centres and meeting places. These infrastructure provide places and spaces for building community. Two categories are available to choose from:... 1. Planning - grant amounts of up to $50,000* For costs associated with planning & feasibility activities for future infrastructure projects 2. Capital Works delivery - grant amounts of up to $350,000* can be provided for the construction of "ready to go" projects. Your organisation must contribute at least one third of the total grant funded. Council will provide two thirds (2/3) up to the maximum value of the grant. You have an Idea but not ready to go, as this is your opportunity to kick off positive liaison with Council to make your idea a reality! 01.01.2022 During this unprecedented time of change and survival, there comes changes and opportunities. For Industrial and Commercial business, by upgrading your premises with the latest LED technology can be cheaper than you think. How, you may ask. 1 - VEET rebate on lighting upgrades are still available till Oct this year. ... 2 - The government is increasing the instant asset write-off (IAWO) threshold from $30,000 to $150,000 and expanding access to include businesses with aggregated annual turnover of less than $500 million (up from $50 million). 3 - A deduction of 50% of the cost of an eligible asset on installation will apply, with existing depreciation rules applying to the balance of the assets cost. The government is introducing this incentive to support business investment and economic growth over the short-term, by accelerating depreciation deductions. This applies to all Sonaray rebate approved lighting and installations, from 12 March 2020 until 30 June 2020, for installed ready for use in this timeframe.
