25.01.2022 This morning we attended to a swimming pool pre purchase inspection in East Ipswich, we first conducted a physical examination over the entire pool and immediately noticed cracking on the sandstone coping and a number of imperfections in the concrete shell. We photographed the defects. We then pressure tested the concealed plumbing namely from the skimmer box back to the pump and from the pump back to the return jets. Both lines DID NOT HOLD. We then hydrophoned the skimmer b...ox, return jets x 2, main drain and hydrostatic valve before entering the pool and dye testing all the above mentioned parts of the pool. Finally we conducted an in pool physical examination of the pools floor and walls looking for any cracks and or imperfections. We phoned our client on site detailing our findings, before following up with a written report, photographs and a quotation to complete both repairs. 18.01.2022 This morning we attended to a house leak on a rural property in Mt Pleasant, our client reported his tank pump was constantly cycling which gave rise to a leak. He had a local plumber attend and check all the services inside the property without success. We attended and noted the pump to be cycling every 6 mins for around 10 seconds which gave rise to a smallish type leak. We conducted a pressure test on the line which failed. We then traced the line and introduced compressed... air without success. We then introduced tracer gas which gave an indication under concrete near the outside tap. With the owners consent we drilled some discrete pilot holes in the expansion joints before honing in on the likely leak location. After quoting for the repair which was accepted we use a quick cut concrete saw and removed a section of concrete path, further excavation revealed a failed 1/2" copper to poly joiner. Our licensed plumber completed the repair before testing the line to find it now secure. We backfilled the site and reinstated the concrete to save our client further expense.
