Today the amazing Cammy from Speech Pathology Australia came to visit and donated some incredible books to our Sparrow resource library . These books won Speech Pathology Book of the year in 2019 and will help us help our little friends reach their speech goals here in 2020. Thank you Cammy and Speech Pathology Australia.

22.01.2022 Congratulations to our amazing 2ic Miss Krystle on being- Sparrow's company 2IC of the Month. Krystle has built amazing relationships with our staff and families since starting here a few weeks ago. She greets everyone with an infectious smile every morning and is always ready to lead a hand to anyone in need. We are so grateful for everything she has done for our centre over the past month. We cannot wait to see what the next 6 months bring for her at our wonderful centre.

Fred Rogers To an adults untrained eye, this may just be a pile of blocks. Another mess that they will ultimately need to be clean up. ... To a creative child this a world of opportunity and learning. To be exact this is a representation of an Army barracks. Each different coloured piece has a different role to play. Each coloured level is home to a different unit. I sat, watching in awe for 45minutes as this child created, played, replicated, imagined, recalled, constructed and interpreted. At just 5 years old, I could see through play that one day this child could plan or construct amazing office buildings. He could be CEO of corporation. He could be an Officer, a Sergeant, or a Corporal. He could be a town planner, a writer, an artist. It is an opportunity for us to show our support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, as well as learn about the culture, traditions and way of life. Our Astrid staff set about these amazing activities today, to start the conversation and encourage children to engage in a meaningful child lead learning experiences.

They had the most fabulous day exploring, investigating and creating there own fun. There were no toys or props just nature in all its glory. Thank you again Wildlings for having us. 06.01.2022 That’s not flying, thats sliding with style !! Sliding Promotes Balance and Coordination: As children grow, before they can independently enjoy the rush of the ‘slide’, they usually need to climb to the top. When a child climbs up a slide and then successfully positions and pushes themselves down the chute, they are building valuable balance and coordination skills. Additionally, it helps your child to develop spacial awareness, as they have to judge when it is a good time to slide and when to put their feet down once they reach the bottom of the chute.
